This song is essential 90s from my childhood in junior high school. Longing for the boy you wanted to be with it. Nothing scandalous, no drugs, parties, sex, violence, cheating etc. just an innocent girl pining for a boy. Britney was my daughter's idol when she was 8 or 9. Her music was playing all the time and made my daughter happy. I only cared for my daughter being happy, not so much about the music itself, - except this very song, that I fell in love with right away. Never got tired of listening to it. Some 20 years later, my daughter is now an adult, has a life, and when I listen to this it takes me all the way back to those years of pure joy and happiness with her, and of course nostalgia sets in. Years of innocence and of lost paradise. Thanks Britney for the joy you brought in our family.

Britney has nothing more to prove. People today forget that she was the biggest pop star in the world BEFORE KZbin, iTunes, Spotify, streaming etc., and arguably the most influential female artist after Madonna. For me, it's incredibly poignant to listen in hindsight to her songs from her debut studio record, and to see photos of the smiling 17-year-old who had no clue about the horrors that were to unfold in her future. It's annoying that so many female artists today cite Britney as "iconic" and "inspiring", yet few have publicly supported her in her times of crisis. Or, rather, they have supported her more as an artist than as a human being. Hopefully they support her in private. If she never performs again, or doesn't release more records, what the hell does it matter? So much of the joy she had for singing and dancing has been destroyed by her team who only care about the money; they forced her to lip-sync and to use the baby voice. I recently imagined what it could be like if Britney can get out of the conservatorship, start a small private business or something to continue supporting her children, and just spend time with them, eventually becoming a grandmother one day, and having more joy. Or maybe she can write memoirs, destroying the false narratives about her once and for all.

@@brigittelikeslanguages8916 The same happened to Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Princess Diana, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse. The fact that Britney didn't kill herself or overdosed in 2007 or 2008 is a miracle. She survived, but the victory cost her so much mental health and peace. But thanks to Britney, more and more people are going to come out and exploit the horrors of the Industry, and they'll cite her as an inspiration to do so.

It is good, also I admit easily. Britney was my first Celebrity Crush and still my biggest one. Seriously a few years ago their was a Pepsi Promotion thing, you buy Pepsi products and got codes to earn entries for various prizes. One of which was concert tickets and a VIP pass to meet Britney in person. I spent like a hundred dollars on bottles of Pepsi to try and win that. I didn't but was worth it despite my limited income. Also if by some miracle I met her I feel I would almost die from that excitement and pleasure:)
