Reminds me of the 'glam rock' band in the mash up scene from the movie Xanadu. Haven't seen it for yonks, but it came to mind immediately. Hahaaa, the main guy is prettier than I've ever been 😂😂😂 Long live long hair and eyeliner for blokes, I say!

You pronounced the town name correctly BP2. It's about 50 miles from me. It's very close a little known chocolate town named Hershey. 😊 Poison was and still is quite famous. Yes, I cringe every time I see a motorcyclist without a helmet on! Ahhh...yes the 80s! They were glam metal but are very talented as well. They sound great live too! Kiss started the whole makeup thing.😂 Then in the 80s bands like Poison jumped on the bandwagon.😅 Another song of theirs to check out that is very different from this is Something to Believe In.

That was fun 😀I _think_ I remember this from the '80s!! So does that mean I wasn't there? 🤔 Not my genres, but I left my "music-fascist jack-boots" out for the bin man decades ago. 😀 Harmless, energetic, joyous silliness. A good 'bop' for a Sunday morning. Best Wishes, Chaps. ☮ G-Man-😎

@@BritPopsReact *_Yes, Harmless, Energetic, FUN._* Not my genre at the time; IIRC I didn't _wear_ my "music-fascist jack-boots", but I may have still polished them at weekends. 🤔😨 Van Halen (Jump), Europe (Final Countdown) spring to mind as absolute classics, and also because my hero *_Yoyoka_* covered them with a full band in a studio during Japan's "Stay Home" (Lockdown). Best Wishes, Chaps. ☮ I've had a skim of a "hairbands" web site, and other bands I remember are Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, and Twisted Sister. No surprises there. "Extreme" did the 'hair' ballad "More 'than Words", which stayed for weeks in UK charts. I've no other recollection of them. Twisted Sister was fronted by Dee Snider. He appeared at US senate hearings (along with Frank Zappa and John Denver) opposing Tipper Gore's (Al Gore's wife) PMRC drive to censor music. While he looked the part of 'hair-band-rebel', he was articulate. He made Tipper Gore seem like the weirdo. ----------- Shameless Plug for *_YOYOKA's 12th Birthday Session_* -------------- (IIRC first played in a live stream the weekend before her 12th birthday) Legendary Japanese musicians met with Yoyoka at a studio for one day to record, at least, 9 songs together, during Japan's "Stay Home" AFAIK, they hadn't rehearsed together in the same room before, so they had brief rehearsals. The audio for every song released was one continuous take, so it's close to "live". The video was recorded on multiple cameras and edited into MV visuals. The playlist's on Yoyoka's channel: _YOYOKA's 12th Birthday Session_ kzbin.info/aero/PLdRIgHiqkWWahmjBhCmEMPWsK8rIFZZBc _She never blocks, so they might be handy to "keep up your sleeve" in the very unlikely event any originals get blocked._ The young woman is Lisa-X. She has her own band. She played _Joe Satriani - Satch boogie_ with Yoyoka remotely early 2020 when she was about 15yo, and Yoyoka 10yo, Yoyoka has her "game face on", I imagine she appreciated the complement those legends were paying her coming together during Japan's "Lockdown". I think they all played pretty much 'note for note' because they had no real rehearsals together. Every track is immaculate. r note' because they had no real rehearsals together. So glad that you stumbled upon Poison. One thing that you can absolutely say is that their songs are "fun". Actually, compared to other hair bands, Poison has a little bit more diverse of a song catalogue including a few ballads that rose high up on the American charts. Listening to this song really does feel like stepping through a time portal to me. I grew up in Pennsylvania, so they were always on the radio. When this song came out both of my sisters were in high school and they would listen to Poison and Bon Jovi and similar bands all day long. Also, Bret Michaels the lead singer, is a really cool, down to earth guy and he is known for doing various charity work around the States.

Omg! They were literally the 2nd concert I ever went to and their roadies got us back stage passes. It was freaking awesome. They were the last concert I saw too with a who's who of other groups. They are so much fun. I can't believe you don't know who they are. They were one of the biggest hair bands of the 80s and never went away for long. And you've had to have heard Every Rose Has It's Thorn. That's a classic.

Patsy Cline "I Fall To Pieces"

Patsy’s a little before my time and a little outta my preferred genre, but whoever was producing and engineering her studio stuff was way ahead of their time. “I fall to pieces”, “Crazy”, “Walkin’ after midnight” and most of the others are really amazing stuff, considering what they had to work with, at the time. Made me an unlikely fan of the great Patsy!

“They had fun.” In the 80s, I was a metal head who took myself entirely too seriously, and I couldn’t stand Poison. I felt they were among the worst of the glam metal bands, and I didn’t like the genre, in general. Sometime in the. Mid-90s, my sister was listening to them when I was visiting her, and it clicked for me that it was *fun* and that was the whole point. I’ve since seen them live twice-last year and in…2017, I think? They’re really good live, because they’re *still* having fun. Bret Michaels (the lead singer) probably appreciates being able to do what he does more than anybody’s else I’ve ever watched perform. They’re still not my favourite, but they are fun, and they get me moving.

+kimzwolinski9919 LOL Everyone on that tour last year did better than Motley Crue ROTFLMBO. The opening band rocked, Joan Jett was amazing, the girl is 64yrs old now and can still rock, Poison of course rocked and delivered as they always do, Def Leppard absolutely killed it.

POISON FANS, PLEASE SKIP TO THE NEXT COMMENT: Ugh does that bring back some cringy memories. So Poison never broke through on the UK scene, huh? Smart. Not surprising. To use the more English vernacular, rubbish. Phoney-boloneys, just like that sock they’ve got stuffed in their spandex pants. The 80’s with all that teased and sprayed hair. I remember at the time I thought it looked great on Ms Psidvicious, but only from about 3 feet away! To be honest, I hated it. Once you get close, it’s like cuddling with a porcupine. Very itchy and scratchy to the face. Well if someone’s a fan of Poison, they’re all yours. I’m sure there’s a band or 2 that I like, that you don’t, so let’s call it even and to each their own.
