Amazing vocals for an “any”-year-old…. I really believe that this was one of the greatest vocal performances ever. Nine years and two months old. Probably started arranging and rehearsing when she was eight. There are videos of rehearsals where you see her controlling the band using questions like “don’t you think it should be higher “ to get what she wants. Musicians affectionately refer to her as the boss. Consider this band going home to family and friends explaining what they did today. I believe they knew that they were part of musical history this day. There has never been and probably never be another Angelina. We are all watching history being made by a child from the age of eighteen months of age to the present. We can thank her Grandmother and Mother for all the early recordings of her journey.

Angelina was 9 years old in this video. This was her own arrangement paying tribute to the original artist Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Many people don’t know that Sreamin’ Jay Hawkins was a boxing champ. He joined the army at age 13 using forged ID. He was a formidable opponent in the army and later in the airforce boxing circuits. He won several boxing golden glove awards mostly in his hometown of Cleveland. In 1949 he won Alaska’s middleweight title. 9 years old Angelina Jordan just delivered him a TKO. Loved it, gentlemen. I like the larger format of both the video and the two of you. Believe it or not, a lot of people watch reactions of their favorite performances just to watch the faces of the reactors. Brit1, your eyes were bugging out of your head. So, uncharacteristically British - stiff upper lip and all that. And for the second time watching Angelina, both of you were "Gobsmacked," and neither of you said you were Gobsmacked. What real Englishman who is Gobsmacked fails to use that English idiom in describing his reaction? Makes me think the two of you aren't British after all. In fact, I'm beginning to think you're two immigrant Polish plumbers copping English accents. (Found you out, did I?) You did kind of clip the video vertically a bit. There are many things you can take away from this performance, but let me center on one that might not get discussed as much as the obvious amazing things Angelina does here. Despite the many vocal techniques and her domination of that studio, Angelina is not showing off. She is masterful (even at 9) at recreating a style so authentically that takes you back to real music of 60 or 70 years ago. Close your eyes and you’re listening to a seasoned blues singer from the 50’s. She will do this to you with blues, as you’ve seen here, soul, r&b, straight ballads, and especially jazz. She is called the girl with 1,000 voices for good reason: compare this voice to the Bohemian Rhapsody performance. She is easily the best singer I’ve ever heard. She will leave you feeling upbeat, melancholic, happy, wistful, or frequently in tears after you watch her live the lyrics of anything she sings. To see what Angelina is like now, watch her cover of Adele’s “All I Ask” and hear her match Adele’s power and emotion, but add amazing texture and nuance that will make it your favorite version immediately. Or watch her go completely old school jazz with her own composition, “Seventh Heaven”, and ask if there is a better jazz singer today. (She just today released an “official” video of this.) But don’t miss those Norway’s Got Talent performances that show how a seven year old in front of an audience and judges can give us Billie Holiday-once with a music track and once a cappella because-why not? It’s no problem at all.

Not only did she do this (We have no name for) Lets say, "The most amazing performance I have ever seen" said by many on KZbin, she has many other performances that have brought people to tears, and I mean uncontrollable (You would never do in public) break down crying! Look at AGT performances, and your taken, then to go back in time to see this? How is she not recognized as.......I can't even come up with a term or name for this, how? But some crown or label needs to be awarded, because if not, we are witnessing a crime in itself! Her parents made sure she had a childhood too. And just remember English is not her first language. But the thing that really cracked me up was, for her performance of Bohemian Rhapsody, the Compere on AGT (speaking to THIS girl, who has been doing live studio work with various top bands & solo performing to crowds for YEARS, directing her to where the mike is... And Angelina gracefully thanking him... { Yup. I can see it. Yup. Think I've got this...} Nope. She didn't say this. That's me interpreting her 'look'. Hilarious. As for - 'absorbing'; Jazz , Blues, Soul 'with her mothers milk' - I think it was earlier - in utero. Apparently her parents were mad keen Billie Holiday and Nina Simone devotees - amongst many others of similar genres and played this music constantly - including throughout the pregnancy. We now have evidence based research that show that babies brains develop more complex neuro development / synaptic connections when exposed - in utero - to complex music - like multi-instrumental classical pieces. That's my conclusion anyway for the: Why? Wot! How!?!

You will get so many recommendations from Angelina fans and they will all lead you in the right direction. There is no bad song, she is my favorite artist. I like to recommend her newest originals because I think it's best way to support and promote her. She is humble and she has an amazing support system. She even has Gene Simmons helping guide her and her parents through the pitfalls of the music industry. Please do "Million Miles" and "Seventh Heaven". She wrote them both. Absolutely the best performance by any child ever on any song! - Period. Actually, I seriously doubt if any adult can match it. No adult can generate the raw emotion of a 9 year old who has lived for decades! She came from the planet "Talent" where everyone has some kind of super ability. She lived on the same street as Dimash and around the corner from Tiger Woods. She came in a rocket wrapped in a blanket which her family made into the outfit she wore on AGT, with the leftovers making the mask in the "The Show Must Go On" video.

"What?" Yeah, that seems to be the usual reaction to this phenomenon. It defies belief & logic that a wee 9 y/o girl could do what Angelina does here. Some 200 singers, including some very good ones, have covered this song. I used to think that only Nina Simone and CCR, maybe Annie Lennox, were worth listening to. Then I found Angelina's version & it is now my favorite.

Thank you for another very good reaction to my favourite singer. For me, when I first heard Angelina singing this song, it became the "definitive" version. You mention her timing, style, tune and "everything" and I agree, as long as you were thinking of "attitude" amongst everything. This was Angelina in "beast" mode. I wonder how many Angelina reactions you will do before you realise that mentioning her age with phrases like "for her age" are completely irrelevant. True, up to the age of 10 there are traces of a child but from then on, if they are there, they are completely indiscernible to me. She was 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video, did you notice: Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the music director, who smiled as he read them? They were her wishes (instructions) to the band how she wished therm to play the music. Then a brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, a well known and respected Iranian artist, who is also Angelina's maternal grandmother and the person who encouraged Angelina in her love of music, especially jazz. And then there is a shot of Angelina holding a candle, upon which was an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins. And the fact that during the last time she sang "because you're mine" she rose on to her toes. Lastly, did you notice how the "performing" Angelina, singing at a level of maturity far beyond her years, suddenly became a 9-year-old child almost instantaneously once she finished singing. From the time I first heard Angelina, way back at her first audition on Norway's Got Talent, she has amazed me. Now you need to see her own composition videos of "Million Miles". She wrote it when she was ~12 years old for the memory of her recently passed (at that time) beloved grandfather. She has dedicated it to him and for any others that have experienced such loss. There are two incredible video versions to see other than the official music video by her new label, Republic Records. Watch the lyrics version first. It has great artful graphics by her grandmom, a noted Iranian artist. The lyrics are most powerful. Then watch the b/w studio version. She uses just a piano (played by a very high up Republic executive) and cello backing. The emotion in this performance will make you cry. Angelina mentioned that while recording the "official" version she cried throughout the session. If you have memories of a dear loss, you need to do a reaction video of these performances. Stunning, emotional artistry by a kid singer/songwriter/arranger.

I agree, l think of Judy Garland as well when l hear Angelina. Judy had a beautiful depth and tone to her voice that set her apart in an era of great voices. Angelina also has a one of a kind tone and depth when she sings. Every time I hear Angelina sing, I picture her stepping out of an old black & white movie, to transport us back in time, so we can fall in love with these genuine masterpieces again! I've got nothing. She is who she is and she just goes on getting better. The one thing I would say is that these days she sings with her own voice - not trying to emulate Billie Holiday or anyone else. Her latest release, 7th Heaven, has just appeared on KZbin. Angelina was 8-9 years in this song. Have you seen her cover from when she was 6 years old when she did " I Who Have Nothing" ? I know the good old Tom Jones sang that song way,way back. Her rendition is amazing and the vid was done in ONE take !!! 6 years old. Un-believable !

This is recorded a year after NGT, which she won at 7/8, so she is 9 yo. When she is a worldwide Super Star, and she will be, millions and millions of people will discover this MASTERPIECE!! and have the same jaw-dropping reaction. And oh yeah, this is her tribute to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins (1956) performance, and she arranged this black and white production to honor him. And the band is a 10+. It blows me away every time I see it (well over 200 now). Great reaction guys!

The first song was "Gloomy Sunday" , the second I'm A Fool To Want You" that was acapella , the third one " Bang Bang" and the fourth one "Summertime".

"The Brit's react!" Of course this performance will never be forgotten. It is truly a CLASSIC and it worth noting this performance came after her sterling performances in Norway's Got Talent. You must listen to her sing both Gloomy Sunday and Summertime during that Show. At the beginning u c her writing something down when a few seconds later a man is reading something and smiles … apparently A had “kindly” asked him to make a couple of revisions in the composition … he is the one who used the word “kindly” when telling someone the story behind it … apparently she was very nice when asking him to cge whatever it was … lol … according to many NOTHING goes into her songs unless she gives the final word on it … and that was understood fr the get-go … U have to give her minders such huge kudos … they did not push her, they let her b a child and witness the world thru a child’s eye … they let her grow accordingly and what we c today is the outcome of such love and devotion … a gift fr the skies above for sure … a rare gem who has been granted a previous gift few of us have been blessed with … I for one will b forever grateful to have had the pleasure to watch her grow and grace us w/her beauty and voice … T/U Miss A Be well Hugs to all

After she won Norway's Got Talent, her Uncle Michael became her agent and manager. They hired this band and two young guitatists to accompany her for the next few years. She has always done her own arrangements. How many 8 year olds have their own band? Thus the early years of the gift named Angelina Jordan.
