PLEASE try this! The best part about Jolly Ranchers is using them to flavor vodka. Just buy a bottle of plain vodka (I like Absolut), as well as a decent sized bag of Jolly Ranchers. You just plop in the Jolly Ranchers and let it soak for 24 hours. A few *important* things to note: - You need to use enough Jolly Ranchers to make it work right. Generally the stronger the better. I’d say at least 25 normal sized Jolly Ranchers (like in this vid) per 500 mL. You can add more than that, or just use less vodka. - DO NOT make the mistake of mixing flavors. It’s much better to keep the flavors separate. This also means that you will need to buy more Jolly Ranchers if it’s an assorted bag. You will be shocked at how good this tastes. I don’t like liquor much, but this is way better than normal flavored vodkas you buy.

My favorite candy you tried is the Now n Laters, love them since I was small. The hostess cakes used to be the best until the company was taken over by a new company. They are not the same, at all.
@amyg49613 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Their Susie-Q’s were my absolute favorite but they just don’t cut it now. The cake is too dry and not enough cream filling.

None of that stuff would be nearly that expensive in the US. That's just what most countries do with imported goods. They raise the prices on the basis that it's "foreign/exotic".
@kakarikiyazoo3 жыл бұрын
No, it's not just because it is "foreign/exotic". It's more that imported goods cost more for the seller to acquire, as they usually pay more to buy them initially than domestic sellers who get them wholesale from domestic distributors. And on top of that they have to pay shipping costs and duty, which is VERY high in the UK for most imported goods. All those higher costs get passed on to the consumer in the retail price. Try importing things for resale and you will see that you need to charge much more than what would be charged in the country of origin.

Those Cheetos aren't $6.99. That's the suggested price from the manufacturer. They were like less at the store depending what the store got them for. Walmart has them for $3.48 if it were the party size, it would be $4.48.

I broke my wisdom tooth on a blue Jolly Rancher. Since I’m American, it took nearly a year to get the rest of the tooth pulled and I got 3 infections in that time. You would think I would associate the Jolly Ranchers with that suffering and pain, but I don’t. I eat one blue JR just about every afternoon at the same time, just like I did up until the tooth broke, It’s fixed now, and the 9 or so months before the surgery was hell… but the universe can come get my blue JRs from my cold, dead hands.

I also like how other countries always think the more nostalgic candy like Tootsie Rolls and Twizzlers are the most popular here…. They’re not! I’d be hard pressed to go find someone I know who actually likes Twizzlers. Tootsie Rolls are like plastic, cheap tasting chocolates that usually only come around during Halloween because they are sold in the big Mix Bags for trick or treaters. Nobody just buys them at the shop to eat, and I don’t think they’re really sold unless around Halloween time.

The problem with Halloween candy is that it can be old stuff from last year that didn't sell. I've never liked Twizzlers, but they sell them in bucket size containers at Cosco, so somebody likes them. Btw, I love Tootsie Rolls, you have to get them fresh.

Candy Corn is actually great when mixed with salted peanuts. Even better with popcorn and salted peanuts! The flavor is way more balanced. Also the cheddar jalapeño Cheetos are way more manageable with the heat but also have tons of flavor.

I was surprised you got some soft Mild Duds. Almost every time I get them they're like rocks, which only slows me down but doesn't stop me from eating them. Candy Corn is just vile. I know a lot of people like it but I find it revolting - the flavor and the texture. And while Twizzlers come in a greater variety of flavors, Red Vines are better. And yes, Reece's Pieces are the best!!

We used to get the pre-sweetened Koolade packets, mixed in a pitcher, put in the fridge to chill. Pour into glasses. If you didn't put it into the right size pitcher, put in the correct amount of sugar & water and then *stir the ingredients,* you get a bitter, unpleasant beverage! These days, I just get Koolade Jammers, which are drunk from foil pouches. My favorite flavors are grape; & tropical punch.

I’m pretty sure everything you bought at the “American” Sweet Shop was all overpriced. Candy here in America is less than $2, and the Cheetos are definitely not $7 a bag. More like $4. They know people will buy it because it’s imported items from America, and if they want it they have no other choice but to pay the high price.
