Then the ball that is the round (or in this case, slug').

I know how that sounds but as far as the rules of EMS goes it states that if the scene is actively unsafe and the medics or EMTs get injured then we can’t help anyone else. In this situation we’d take our ambulance and “stage” a safe distance away. I’m guessing in this situation that’s why the injured officers had to get themselves to the waiting ambulance.

I’m a former Missouri EMT. OUr training and the service I worked for, forbade us from entering an area/scene if we were aware or suspicious of danger on scene, whether fallen power lines, active fire, gunshots, or a person wielding other weaponry or being assaultive. We were called to a scene that was downgraded to a psych non emergency. I drove by to see a man chasing his parents across a yard with a butcher knife. I kept driving, had dispatch notify PD and staged half mile away. We took him to the hospital in cuffs with PD following after PD cleared us to do so. This is why we have guns in our country to protect ourselves, and protect our families, and protect ourselves from the government if needed, but also to lend a hand to law-enforcement if needed
@jestapath73739 ай бұрын
It is important to be realistic about the concept of self-defense against the government. The thought of facing off against a well-equipped SWAT team or military force is simply unrealistic. Moreover, one must consider the rationale behind such actions. While there may be legitimate concerns about corrupt individuals within law enforcement, provoking a confrontation with them could result in dire consequences for oneself and loved ones. I support the idea of self-defense within reasonable bounds, but engaging in conflict with a government entity is a questionable course of action without "reasonable" cause and your own team, even then....you better be willing to die and most of all be in the right. What is a defend against the government situation exactly if I may ask?

One of the lines was something about 'A well regulated militia' basically a civilian's army.. but the application of war has grown from 'bayonets, muskets, and swords' to 'Weapons of mass destruction, mass casualty, and mass bombardment' Not things I could imagine the founding fathers foreseeing.

A guerrilla war is notoriously difficult to win, especially in your own country.
@Andrewy277 ай бұрын
@@jestapath7373 "What is a defend against the government situation exactly if I may ask?" There isn't one particular scenario. However, there are many examples throughout history. We can start with the French Resistance in World War Two, where rudimentary handguns were dropped for the people to arm themselves. They were single shot pistols for the purpose of assassination of a German soldier. The French Resistance would then take the weapon and ammo from the soldier and then use that firearm for further purposes of their role in reconnaissance and sabotage. We Americans understand that while freedom is risky, the reward for maintaining a right to keep and bear arms for the people is vital in perpetually ensuring that, should a time arise to have a call to arms to either quell an invasion, resist against a tyrant, or protect oneself from those who wish to do harm is more important than safe unwilling compliance.

When he said the plug landed in his yard, he means the wad from inside the shotgun shell. It's a divider that's placed in between the gunpowder and the projectile(s). It comes out of the barrel behind the projectile(s) but is usually made of lightweight thin plastic and doesn't fly very far or straight.

5:44 The "slug" is the bit of metal inside the shotgun shell that comes flying out and does damage to the target, the "plug" (sabot) is a bit of plastic that cups around the slug inside the shotgun shell to keep it straight as it fires down the barrel, the plastic bit comes out after the slug when the shotgun is fired and just sort of flutters through the air and falls. So when this idiot was shooting shotgun slugs into the air, the plastic bits from the shotgun shells were raining down into their yard.

So the difference between a slug and a "plug" is the slug is the actual projectile, it's essentially just a big bullet, the "plug" is likely referring to the wad. A wadding is a piece of plastic used in-between the gunpowder and the projectile to push it down the barrel.

The wad shoots out with the pellets keeping them together until the wad and pellets leave the barrel which then they separate from each other after some distance. If he fires into the air the wad would travel so far until it no longer contains the pellets and fall to the ground. The wad being a plastic bowl in a way.

Theres several elements to your questions about shotguns. When they said "plug" they're refering to a piece of plastic that's in front of the propellant and behind the "bullet" or shot. It just pushes the shot out evenly. So when he's shooting into the air it's shooting "bb's" or shot and the plastic piece just falls down onto the ground without risk to anyone and fell into the neighbors yard. The rounds typically used can be slugs, buckshot, or birdshot. This man was shooting birdshot. Birdshot is shot thats between the size of gravel and bb's used primarily for of course birds. Buckshot is the typical lethal shell used that consists of roughly 1cm ball bearing like balls. The slug is a 1oz or .02kg led "bullet".
@richardpickett38829 ай бұрын
A shotgun fires several different rounds. You have a slug, an ounce of solid lead, .00 buck, 9 .45 caliber bb’s, birdshot, which has a lot of little bb’s and several others. They got hit with the birdshot it looks like because the first two would have killed them.

Pellets for small game and or water fowl, turkey, dove, etc... Slug shotgun shells are primarily used on big game. You could think of a shotgun shell like loading a muzzel weapon. But doing the loading process in a shotgun shell then sticking the shell into a shot gun. NOTE: Plug/Wad keeps the pellets seperated from the powder.

Slugs rounds are solid 1oz chucks of lead, plugs are used for bird/buck shot rounds. The plug holds the shot in place while inside the round and when fired off you will see a little piece of plastic fly through the air.

A "slug" is the actual "bullet" in a shotgun shell. Usually a 1oz lead "rifled slug", meant to be shot out of smooth bore shotgun. That is a huge round meant for big game hunting (or anything else you want to put a really big hole in, at more of a distance than any pellet round). Anyway...the "plug" is part of a shotgun shell that's used to keep the pellets or slugs in place, along with the gun powder for that load. You'll usually find shells ejected near the shooter (if they ejected them), and the plugs about 15-50 feet away from where the shooter shot.

The plug is a part of a shotgun shell that also gets discharged when the shell is fired. A slug, on the other hand, is a shot round style of projectile that acts similar to a standard bullet, as opposed to shot which disperses over an area like a cone, which is where shotguns get their name.

@MrNobody917 ай бұрын
5:55 Like Aiden said, the shell is what holds all of the pellets, bbs, or the slug (and well I guess and the plug as well lol). The slug is the big piece of lead/metal that is actually being shot, (aka the projectile that's being shot at the target). Also, when they say plug, I'm assuming they mean the Wad/wadding inside of the shotgun shell, which is used at the front of the shell to hold like the bbs or the slug in place and all. And when the trigger is pulled the Wad (a piece of like plastic sort of cone shaped materia, Ig plastic, which I always thought it was like more it a fabric of some sort other than plastic cause of how it looks when being fired out and all, it looks more like fabric than plastic imo. But yeah, it's just what it used at the front of the shell, again, it's just there to hold everything being shot out in the front of the shell and all, Ig to ensure that everything is together before being shot out of the shell. But yeah, Ik that's a lil bit longer than I anticipated it being and maybe I'm not the best at explaining stuff myself, but I hope from what lil bit of knowledge I have when it comes to shotguns and all. I'm more knowledgeable about pistols and all more tbh, tho I do love the old shotgun I had (it was called like an over under shotgun, where u pressed a button and the front of thr barrel lowered ad pointed down to load the shell in thr very end of the barrel closest to/the stock. Which sadly my mom give it to a neighbor at the time who was a family friend at the time, who ended up fucking me out of the gun, which really made me extremely mad and I'll never forgive him cause it was the 4/10 shotgun my grandmother give me a couple years before she passed away and was one of the only things I had left of her (other than a 22 revolver that got stolen by the person I lived with in middle school before we moved back to the original city we were from). It just makes me so sad that the couple of things that were the only things I had left from my grandmother were taken from me, and one by someone we trusted , and he was only ever asked to hold onto the gun for me and my mom cause I was going thru a lot at the time and was severely depressed and she asked him to hold onto it, and he ended up giving it to his son and no telling what happened after that, but I'll never forgive him and know that I'm older I wanna see and beat tf out of him not matter how old he is for stealing and taking away the only physical thing I had left of my grandma, it makes me so sad every time I think of it wnf me not having that 4/10 anymore. But just my luck Ig, I wouldn't have any luck if not for bad luck. But it takes a real pos to give away a gun you know is someone's only item they have left from their deceased grandmother, and you give it away anyways tbh, like a true pos move. Sorry, Ik the last paragraph or two have nothing to do with the video, but once I brought up my old shotgun, it brought back all of those great and then horrible memories I tried to forget due to not having what was given to me by my grandma to remember her by, it just makes me so fkn mad man frfr, and the bad part is, he knew what it was and what it meant to me tbh.
