There is an excellent comedy out of Canada called "Letterkenny" that has a character named "Shoresy", a hockey player who throws down some classic "Chirps" (verbal taunts). The other characters on the show do their fair share of chirping. If you're up for a movie reaction, you should check out the 1977 hockey classic "Slap Shot".

As a Canadian, I think hockey is lucky that it can stay out of the limelight in the US, with NFL, NBA, MLB, UFC, MLS all being more popular the ‘powers that be’ are a lot less likely to try and meddle with the hockey league for whatever nefarious purposes they have. It has existed in a perfect zone of popular enough to make the $$$ needed for an entertaining professional league, and not so popular that it gets co-opted by politicians / media. Hopefully we can continue to toe the line, it’s sad to see what they have done to the top sports leagues in America.

Lots of Corey Perry in this video. Still playing in his 19th season, he's had a very good career that probably will not be quite enough to get him in the Hall of Fame. He's one of those players considered "dirty" when playing for an opponent but you'd love to have him on your team. The shenanigans (from 20-25 years ago) at 5:42-6:34 should result in penalties today, and possibly fines.

It’s funny that in the game where you can hit as hard as you want and literally fight, you will be immediately ejected from the game if you spray someone with a water bottle… Definitely watch a Don Cherry compilation though, it’ll help you understand Hockey probably even more than watching hockey.

*As a Canadian I have to say Hockey is the best sport in the World.* _Its Fast.Its brutal Hard Hitting at twice the Speed of any other team sport. Fighting Allowed and only a 5 minute penalty in the box. Often there's no advantage after the penalties are called cause each guy gets 5 minutes LMAO So it's just two guys squaring off lol_ *We start playing league hockey in Canada at age 5 and can skate before we can run...its our sport!*

I agree; the little mind games (gamesmanship) is what makes sports most interesting. Speaking of goalies being nut jobs...Ron Hextall, the Flyers goalie took it to another level.
