Black Friday is called Black Friday because it comes from the financial term "In the Black." This term means that a company has earned enough money in a given year to be profitable. Black Friday is the date in the year where the majority of American companies earn a profit for that year. There are so many products sold on that one day that the companies are now "In the Black." By the way, if a company fails to earn a profit each year it is called "In the Red."

HAHAHA ...ok Guys....the meaning of Black Friday is not because of the violence .......smdh.......(that is a new phenomenon which has calmed down some due to COVID and Amazon)....it was called Black Friday because there were sooooo many purchases that the store went out of the red(losing money) to being in the black (making profit) - ancient accounting terms.

Haha I was laughing at that one too. The other thing they failed to mention was the reason for the shopping uptick. More people are off work the day after Thanksgiving (always on a Thursday at the end of November) so a lot of people liked to start their Christmas shopping.

You can't put huge bits of food in the garbage disposal. Just small bits of food debris left on the plate. You would scrape 90% of the food waste into the bin first before heading to the sink.

Black Friday is not about fighting. Black Friday is what the shop owners cross over from red on their balance sheets to a black (profit). Their biggest sales start on “Black Friday” to begin this upward sales season.

They have some facts wrong. But for the most part, that is correct. An evaporation basin is easy to separate waste from waste water. No trucks to haul the trash to the landfill. High school sports are pretty big here too. College athletes at one time weren't paid. Times have changed. The problem is the amateur standing now. 16:26 A corndog.

My school is my school. I am always and forever loyal. Other countries don't understand. The football stadium holds 62,000, the basketball arena 14,000. Both are on the small side for our conference. There are many other sports at the university, swimming and diving, track and field, lacross, volleyball, baseball, softball. Most cannot pay for themselves. The revenue from football and basketball pays the way so that these students can play the sports that they love. I have screamed myself hoarse at basketball games where the noise level has drowned out the horn from the scorer's bench. (Actually, in that gym that's routine. It has to do with the acoustics of the roof) The countdown has started, 80 days to football, with a short look at the player with that day's jersey number on the website. The starting center on the basketball team is 7'4" and 295 lbs. Yes, we take this seriously

I notice British reactors mention Pizza Hut for free refills but never mention American fast food places like McDonalds. In the states you get your own drink at fast food places like McDonalds and Wendys so can’t imagine not being to get free refills at them.

Brit #2 there has been a change starting this year to the " no pay" college sports. NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) and the Supreme Court ruled it was a violation of the student athletes rights to deny them a salary while on full athletic scholarships.

I think the lawyers metric is about people who have passed the bar. We have lots of people who were lawyers but work in other industries. But it still says we have too many people trained or educated as lawyers compared with other things.

Okay. So spray cheese (and Nacho cheese for the sake of this argument) is tasty but no one in America is under the illusion that fine dining is happening when we are consuming it. Should the French figure out how to provide me Saint-Nectaire or Roquefort in a spray can then we can talk comparisons. Otherwise…take a seat over at the snobbery table and watch me enjoy my fake cheese with nothing but pure delight. Also, Kraft singles are dominant on grilled cheese sandwiches… bring it!

Sometimes lawsuits are the only way for a victim to get recompense for being cheated. Politicians are too corrupt and bought off to pass sufficient consumer protection laws.

3 lawyers in my little family! Cousins. Years ago I knew a surgeon who got a degree in law so he could cut out the middleman for malpractice lawsuits. Ahhhh... Easy Cheese! We ALWAYS have a can in the house as our sons both like to just squirt it in their mouths! My husband and I prefer it on crackers, like a Ritz. In Los Angeles I ALWAYS had a garbage disposal but now that I'm in a rural area most people compost or feed it to the hogs. College sports, I am a fan of college football! Go Razorbacks!! And actually the college athletes DO make money now. There was a recent lawsuit allowing them to earn from use of their pictures and such. White teeth are just weird and creepy to me! Black Friday too is weird and creepy and I NEVER participate! YOU PEOPLE DON'T HAVE RED SOLO CUPS?!?! Ok, our great flag, the flag of the U.S.A. is hella massive important to us! It stands for our freedom, our pride, our courage and tenacity, our forefathers and their bravery. We have great respect for our flag. The Stars and Stripes IS America! AND SO ARE CORNDOGS!!!!!!

Interesting, I have a waste disposal unit under my sink. They are not banned at all; they are in fact a great way to dispose of your food waste in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. That said most of my food waste goes in the small green bin provided by the council to be turned into compost and whatever else. Most Americans that have tasted British cheese will never go back to the crap they sell over there and the same for their chocolate. I think Five Guys and Nando's do free soft drink refills. The flying of the union flag has become less because of the reason you stated BP2. I know of a few people that have been asked not to fly our national flag because of complaints (Don't even get me started on that subject) However on a recent visit to see my sister in Wales, I noticed that in Cardiff the Welsh flag is flying from nearly every lamp post and building.

Weatherspoons do free refills on hot drinks. I meet my aunty once a month and we always go there. Also, I live in Cardiff and I rarely see the Welsh flag outside of the town centre, so I'm surprised you saw so many! Several of the older buildings in town have them, and obviously Cardiff Castle has the flag, but that's about it. Except on rugby days of course, where people wear them as well as display them 😁

The US has plenty of good cheese. In most stores there is a section for more of the bulk cheese and another section for the higher quality cheese. The problem with British chocolate is, it would melt in 75% of the US before you could eat it. If you have never eaten chocolate outside when it is over 90 degrees F then you don't know just how fast the stuff melts. Sucks about your flag, you have a great country and you should be very proud of it. Every country has done terrible things but the world is a much better place thanks in no small part to the UK.

Just an FYI - what happens on House is not a representation in any way about what happens in the American healthcare system, it's strictly Hollywood. Regarding garbage disposals, the food that is ground up goes along with the rest of the water ultimately to a waste water treatment plant where solids are removed, it is not being dumped into the waterways as the video would have you believe. one of the reasons why college athletes are not paid is that is how we separate the professionals from the non-professionals. Many of the college athletes will be recruited into the pros. Spray cheese is flammable, I'm sure. It's been around forever, which is hard to believe.

No easy cheese for me. Yuck! On the subject of garbage disposals, they are really handy but it is not recommended to put all of your food in it - just small food scraps like the bits that you leave behind on your plate. You certainly don’t put in bones or any large pieces of meat or items that are fibrous. That would just burn out the motor of the disposal and could do damage to your pipes. I used to put used coffee grounds in my garbage disposal until my pipes got clogged and I had to have a very expensive visit from the plumber to clear it all out. Learned my lesson and had no problem since I now only use it for the smaller items. Most of the lawyer commercials here are for workplace and car accidents. Few people in their right mind would hire a lawyer based on a TV ad as they are considered shyster or less reputable lawyers. And the medical ads are ridiculously everywhere. After they tell you the reason why you should take it they spend even more time telling you all the horrible things will happen to you if you do take it. I wish they would be banned over here as well. They do more harm than good.

So, this isn't true- France advertises medical things just as much, only in a different way. Britain advertises Barristers, and the main reason people don't use them as much is twofold- money, and your legal system is structured much differently. Spray cheese is very popular in Korea, and is most definitely NOT 51% cheese. Garbage Disposals are all over the world in wealthier households. People don't put food down their sinks- it's for odd scraps that end up down there. As far all College sports, Russia and the Asian countries are heavily into those. Wealthier people in all countries have better dental care. Everyone will turn someone down for a 2nd down if they have nasty teeth. Black Friday has a significant history- look it up. Solo cups are everywhere. Not every American uses them. Refills are no longer free most places. What is wrong with showing off the flag? Mexico does as well- British flags are everywhere. If you're going to review a video, please make sure it has some significance.

What is the reason for it? I mean not showing off the Union Jack. It's a shame, you guys have things to be proud of too. All countries and cultures have points in their history (Lord knows America is no exception) when shady shit(dark parts) went down. It's what we are now in the present that counts. You're talking about beer pong, the game where you try to get a ping pong ball in a cup, many times a Red Solo cup. As so many have already said he got a few things wrong, the biggest being Black Friday, which is a little annoying because a simple Google search would have cleared that up for him.

Black Friday now starts Thanksgiving afternoon. I wait till cyber Monday which starts on Fridays. I don't leave the house those days. Last year I got a 55 inch smart tv for half off! the reason Black Friday is so popular is that everything is deeply discounted, up to and over 50% mostly, so people do all their Christmas shopping in one day...Black Monday (the following Monday) is online day for deep discounts

Spray cheese. Sounds revolting 🤢 I remember the Asda Black Friday TV chaos. I was going there for my usual Friday shop, and mentioned to my hubby that if they had the TV in stock I'd grab one for the daughter for Christmas (those were the days when I actually had money to spare. Sigh.) It took me almost an hour to even get into the store, and people were coming out with 2 or 3 tvs in their trollies. Greedy b*stards. Needless to say, nothing was left by the time I got in. And I was there before 9am. Crazy. I wasn't overly bothered though to be honest. I don't get why people go so mad. It's just greed from retailers, and consumers fall for it. * shrugs * Also, House is amazeballs. That is all.

@EnderOllie 4 Don't let Chuey's Mama hear you say that, she does seem very protective of Easy Cheese. It was fun to learn some of those and not all were a big surprise. As for Black Friday's totally nuts and something we really do not need. I am up to Season 6 on House and have been enjoying it, I can see that it is getting a little darker and the fun one liners have become less. Hugh is a very talented guy and can play the Blue's really well. Cheers

@@BritPopsReact fun fact about House (if you didn't know it already) was that he auditioned for the part with an American accent, so the producers actually didn't know he was British. It does get darker in later seasons, but they ended it well, which is not always the case with multi-season shows (coughGameofThronescough). Enjoy!
