The fries are single-fried, resulting in a light, golden yellow color. They're fully cooked but fried only once, because efficiency. To get a deeper golden color, they would need fried again (a method called double-fried), at a higher temperature. A lot of deep fried foods can be cooked this way. When double-frying foods, the first fry is usually at 375F, pulled and rested, then fried a second time at 375F, pulled, seasoned, and served.

Actually more than three burgers. You can customize them in a lot of weird ways, like subbing lettuce for the buns, or tripling or quadrupling the burgers, or asking them to make a grilled cheese sandwich, or add Grilled Onions, and more. It's the least secret secret ever. It does puzzle me how their fries are so lame. They hate changing things, but that's one thing they definitely should change. I know that people DO recommend you order rhem extra -well done.

in and out is a tasty burger. the ingredients taste much fresher than most fast food burgers. the fries are nothing special and they dont have bacon as an option but the price is right and the burgers hit the spot. and while its called a "secret menu" its really just making common alterations to your burger. theyll do just about anything so long as they have the ingredients to do it. if you order your burger without tomato, theyll take 15 cents off it. which means you can also order it with 20 extra tomato slices on it for an extra 3 dollars and call it "tomato style" if you want.

Correction... A Double Double is NOT a double burger, as a double burger would have no cheese. Double-Double means double meat, double cheese. You can also order a double single or a triple double in whatever combination you wish. Even a single double if you want one patty and two cheese. Also, if you wanted, for instance, a triple triple, in In N Out speak you just order a 3x3 (3 by 3). Also, we don't use tomato sauce on fries, it's ketchup. I know it looks the same but trust me it's not tomato sauce. That would indeed taste horrible. Ketchup is the go-to for most Americans. We only use tomato sauce or paste for cooking.

Theres 3 ways to order onions: onions (raw sliced onion), grilled onions (chopped & grilled), or grilled whole onions (grilled sliced onion). For sauce, they also have the "spread", which you must ask for at the counter or drive thru window when you pick up your food, which is the same sauce that's on the burger and animal style fries. They give it to you in giant packets. One of the reasons why some people don't like their fries is because they are fresh and single fried. Most fast food places use frozen fries that are partially fried at the factory and then that gets fried a second time at the restaurant. Those are the types of fries everyone is used to eating and so they automatically expect that same crispy texture.

There may be three burgers on the menu, but you can customize them any way you want, with the ingredients they've got (sadly, no bacon), plus there's a "secret menu." I typically get a 3x3 (like the double double, but 3x meat, 3x cheese) add mustard grilled and fresh onion, lettuce tomato lots of pickles, and absolutely no disgusting spread. Sometimes, I'll have my burgers "mustard fried," too.

Like Wiley_Coyote said, there are many different options, one very popular is animal style, which can apply to fries as well. You can get fries light (our preference) for softer homemade style or get them with cheese or sauce or both. You can also get raw or grilled onions. What makes them amazing is the freshness of their ingredients.

The condiments they have are ketchup, spread (burger sauce) and yellow peppers. Which some people like to squeeze the juices onto their burger and nibble on for a bit of spice. I do recommend you ask for whole grilled onions in your burgers. The regular chopped up grilled ones are a bit bitter for me.

Since the fries are not frozen first, they cook differently, so most people hate them. But you can ask for animal style (with their signature sauce) and ask for well done so its crisper.

Never frozen, farm fresh fast food. Their French Fries (chips) kind of suck because they aren’t loaded with preservatives and aren’t pre-cut frozen death sticks. Their meat and vegetables are all sourced within a 300 mile radius of their distribution centers so it’s never older than 2 days uncut. It’s a Christian restaurant (they print Bible versus on their packaging) that believes in only fresh food and paying/treating their employees very well. Every single In-N-Out I’ve ever been to is clean, polite and friendly service, and extremely tasty burgers. I have even come to respect the French fries because I know it was literally a unpeeled potato less than 10 minutes before I eat it. Just add a tiny bit of salt and cope. I usually just order the burgers though. Also, as many have mentioned this establishment has a “secret menu”. It’s not very secret, but customizable to the point where you can basically order any ingredient they have in any combination and it will be fulfilled. Fantastic! I have subscribed and I will like every video from this channel from now on.

Forgot to add this to my first comment; lol… try a double double protein style burger. It’s my favorite; messy, but so good. Two patties; with 2 slices of cheese, wrapped in lettuce…. It’s the only burger I really love tomatoes in! I ask for grilled onions and burger sauce; too! They usually ask if you’ll be eating in your car, so they’ll give you paper placemats to try & be a bit cleaner. Don’t count on it; lol, but they can give you to go boxes as well… or flatten the bags & use them as placemats. ❤️

The problem is though, In'n'Out's fries are usually garbage. They are way better animal style because of the added extras - but their fries are just not good. I know a lot of people complain about their fries, but they really are not good. People think that because they cut them fresh and fry them fresh, they are going to be amazing. But they don't soak the fries to get some of the starch out (which makes them more fluffy and crispier after the frying) and they don't double fry them obviously, not to mention they barely season them. Which is why animal style makes them better to eat. :)

U can get the burgers & fries ANIMAL STYLE & remember this is America, u can get any of it "YOUR WAY" that's not just at Burger King. I don't like "most" tomatoes & I'm allergic to onions so I always ask for no onions & no tomatoes & they'll do it gladly. Tomato sauce is different from Ketchup which is sweeter& better but they usually have mayonnaise packets or their special spread or sauce for u to dip ur fries in. BK & other Burger places special or secret sauce is usually the same as our Thousand Island Salad Dressing u can buy in the grocery stores. You can ask them for no tomatoes. Not a problem. Also it's a double double because it's 2 meat patties and two slices of cheese. You can also get a triple triple aka 3 by 3, a 4 by 4 and as far as you want to go. I prefer the grilled onions as well.

i get mine animal style with both raw and grilled onions, chopped chilis and extra toast and animal style fries...... chopped chilis are little yellow spicy peppers which they will chop and put on the burger and extra toast means extra toast on the buns. you can also get a neopolitan milk shake which is strawberry, vanilla and chocolate milk shake

Just want to give a little shout of support since so many are commenting on the tomato thing. I don’t like/can’t have tomatoes/ketchup either. I still enjoy burgers just fine. Is it different without? Obviously. But keeping something you don’t like in the first place on a dish just for “authenticity” isn’t going to help you appreciate the experience any more. You go right ahead and customize! Honestly, that’s just as American as any formula.

I do not have an In-N-Out where I live in central Illinois, we have a Steak n Shake and an A&W, and they both have good burgers, I would give the edge to Steak n Shake, if you like the smash thin steakburger they are the best, if you like a thicker burger A&W is pretty good. They have a Papa burger that is very good. But my favorite place to get a burger is not a fast food place, it is a bar that sells food, it's a place called Meadows Tap in East Peoria Illinois. They sell a 1/2 lb. steakburger that is awesome, it is not cheap, it's about $13.00 for the burger and fries, but it is really really good. It is made with fresh ground steak, not ground beef, it is a steak burger, and never frozen. They get all their meat fresh every day from a local butcher shop called Alwans. It is better than any fast food burger I ever had, it is tasty, juicy, thick, and amazing. And I usually get one at least once a week.

Nicola is very beautiful and I love her accent! 😍 But, she doesn't like tomatoes??? 😲Well, I don't like them by themselves, but I like them as part of a salad or sandwich. In the USA, you can specify that you don't want a given ingredient....I heard that's uncommon in the UK? 😃 I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and still live here, and to me In-N-Out is "meh". I don't really like the sauce that In-N-Out uses, and don't really like red meat most of the time. I prefer Burger King or McDonalds. 😃It's true that In-N-Out is very popular in California, just personally I'm not really into it. 😃 Subway is probably my favorite, have you guys tried that? It's a fast food sandwich chain, has turkey sandwiches, ham sandwiches etc. You get to specify everything you want on it. 🙂

Who keeps telling people to drip french fries in the milkshakes? That is not how we eat them. That's just as bad as telling people to dip your chicken & etc in the mash potatoes & gravy. Please ask the people at the restaurants how to eat the food. The internet is telling you wrong.

I'M SO SORRY (NOT SORRY) THAT THE U.K. DOESN'T HAVE IN-N-OUT. Anthony Bourdain once said that In-N-Out burger was the only fast food in the world worth a damn. So, feel free to argue with the late world renowned Chef all you want. But you are wrong. Also, if you are English, you have no right. You. Have. No. Right. I've never understood how KZbinrs can honestly or accurately review any food item after picking everything off they don't like before trying the item. Everything on a Double-Double contributes to it's overall flavor profile, including the lettuce, tomato and flavorful spread. And for Nicola to look at the tomato as if In-N-Out was trying to poison her by putting tomato on a hamburger is laughable because most people, including me, enjoy red, ripe tomato on a hamburger, and it's standard on most well made burgers. As for dipping french fries in ketchup, welcome to America. Salty french fries dipped in ketchup is a wonderful thing. But, if you prefer a different sauce for your fries at In-N-Out, just ask at the counter and they will give you packets of their burger spread at no cost.

I appreciate your feedback! It's true that every ingredient contributes to the overall flavor of a food item. We are not professional food reviewers, just 2 brits that wanted to try InNout Burger for the first time. It's important to keep an open mind when reviewing food and consider all the elements that make up the dish. And you're absolutely right, In-N-Out's tomato is actually a favorite for many burger lovers! Just not ours.

The fries are anemic because the oil is too clean (hasn't had enough carbon buildup) and the only fry them once. When using fresh potatoes, double frying is essential. Get them well done. In-n-Out has some of the worst fries in fast food.

You crazy. It's the best vaule in fast food. Mom and pop burger shops use frozen patties that are rhe cheapest grade of " beef" you can buy unlike in years past were they used quality ground beef patties.
