In n out is a lot easier to navigate if you just think of it as a basic burger joint where you can customize everything exactly how you want from what they have (with a few limitations). The secret menu is just the most popular combinations. The options they offer: Patty and cheese combo: up to a 4x4 (3x2 is 3 patties and 2 slices of cheese for example) Onions: raw, chopped (raw), grilled (chopped), and whole grilled; can get any or all of them extra or regular Patties: mustard fried Buns: extra toasted (I highly recommended this) Chopped peppers, pickles, mustard, and (i assume) ketchup are all options you can ask to add that's not on the standard burger. Fries: well, extra well (i go for extra well) Shakes: any combo of the 3 flavors you want; they also have m, l, xl shakes if the regular is too small Root beer float (or any soda float I'd assume) That's all i can think of for now and I'm sure I've left stuff out. You used to be able to get it any way you wanted but in 2004 someone ordered a 100x100. After that hit the internet, in-n-out changed the policy to no bigger than a 4x4. You can even get a puppy patty which is an unseasoned patty you can feed dogs. Literally just order your meal exactly the way you like your burger, fries, and drink and don't worry about the menu/secret menu. That's how I've been doing in n out for the last 30+ years and i still love it as much now as i did then

I've seen videos of Brits eating fish and chips in England. The chips looks so delicious. In the 1970s and early 1980s in the US we had a franchise called Arthur Treacher's fish and chips and it was really nice. The chips were crunchy on the outside and soft and savory on the inside. French Fries should be like that. Great video as usual!!

@@thebritstry part 2 ideas, oh and don't forget to ask for their chili peppers to be put on the burger and also,a side of them too
@Alex86059 ай бұрын
That's nowhere near the full secret menu. What follows may not be all inclusive either just because of the absurd amount of possibilities from a seemingly simple menu. Starting with burger customizations: Adding pickles to any burger. They only come standard as part of Animal Style Burgers. Mustard grilled patties. Another aspect of Animal Style. Asked for a Mustard grilled patty or patties on any burger that's not animal style. Ketchup grilled and/or spread grilled patties might be a thing too. Any combination thereof could be possible. Adding Mustard and/or Ketchup to burgers. They don't normally come on burgers, but can be asked for. It's also possible to subsistute the spread on burgers for one or both of these if desired. Raw whole onion, whole grilled onion, chopped raw onion, and grilled onion (chopped by default - comes on Animal Style burgers and fries) are all possible to add to any burger. A completely insane order is to do all of them at the same time. Chili peppers - yep they have chili peppers they can add to burgers or to get on the side. It's easy to add them to a burger, fries, or something else* if desired on your own. Not sure they will auto them them to fries if asked. *I'm not going into details about the something else other than to say some people may wish to spice up their drink, shake, or float. Never tried it and never met anyone who has, but it can be done. Adding extra tomatos, lettuce, pickles, onions, spread, ketchup, and/or mustard to any burger beyond the normal amount. Adding more cheese and/or patties to a burger. The limit for patties is generally 4, but if someone calls ahead it might be possible to add more patties at some locations. In-N-Out used to have few limits regarding the number of patties and cheese that could be added. There are crazy videos out there of 20x20s and silly burger sizes up to at least one 100x100. I know people have tried more and proved they had the cash to pay for it. Not sure of the success rate though. I forget which comes first in the numbers (cheese or patties), but it is possible to order them in different amounts. I once wanted 4 cheese and 2 patties, but ended up with 4 patties and 2 cheese slices. I don't remember if a 2x4 or a 4x2 is the right way to order that. Double meat, triple meat, quadruple meat (no cheese on the first three), 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 2x1, 2x3, 2x4, 3x1, 3x3 (aka the triple triple), 3x2, 3x4, 4x1, 4x2, 4x3, and 4x4 (aka the quad quad) are all the off menu standard burger orders that are possible. It is possible to order any burger without a bun. It is also possible to order any burger protien style or lettuce wrapped, onion, and tomato wraps are probably also doable, pickles might be an option too. I do not know how much self assembly might needed for some of these. Just learned (within a few minutes before now) about ordering untoasted buns and cold cheese to any burger. I bet asking for cold cheese on fries can be done too. The Flying Dutchman - two patties and two slices of melted cheese with nothing else. Order it protien animal style for a more ridiculous experience or any other way they will let you. A doggy patty for dogs can be ordered. Grilled cheese - basically a double double without the meat. It still includes the spread, lettuce, tomato, and onion if desired. More cheese can be added. Other customizations as listed above are possible too. Animal style burger - mustard grilled patty or patties, extra spread, and grilled onions are added. Fries: Fries light - cooked less time Fries extra light Fries well - cooked more time Fries extra well No salt Extra salt Spread fries Cheese fries Animal style fries without grilled onions or other types of onions as listed above. Animal style fries - melted cheese, spread, and grilled onions. Roadkill fries - some assembly required. Ask for a burger patty on the side and animal style fries. Add the patty atop the fries to create roadkill fries. Salt and pepper packets to add to anything. Mustard, ketchup, and spread can be on the side too. I've never tried or asked for grilled tomatos, grilled pickles, or grilled lettuce on anything. Some might be doable, but no promises. Drinks: Milkshakes and floats come in cup sizes that are one smaller than normal drink cups by default. Ordering a medium shake or float will have it come in a small drink cup instead. Ordering a large shake/float comes in a medium drink cup. Varying by location and other factors it used to be possible to order an extra large shake/float which comes in a large drink cup. I have not tried it in years. The one time I tried to order an extra extra large shake (to come in an extra large drink cup), I was told it is not possible. Maybe it is sometimes at some locations Any beverage and shake flavor can be combined to create a float. So a Strawberry Lemonade float can be ordered if desired, or Chocolate 7up float just as two examples. The craizest thing I have done so far is a Chocolate Root Beer float, which I like a lot. Shake flavors can be mixed too. Choco Vanilla, Chocolate Strawberry, Strawberry Vanilla, or all three for a Neapolitan shake. Regular beverages can be mixed as well. I won't list all the options, but look at the menu and yeah any two or more can likely be mixed without In-N-Out giving the order much questioning. I would not suggest adding food to most drinks, shakes, or floats on your own, but do what you want. Dipping fries in shakes/ice cream is a real thing. Probably missed something, but that's everything I can think of now.

Oddly enough my fave grilled cheese now is just the one from Starbucks. It’s got buttery garlicky goodness to it. As far as I’m and Out goes, my go to is a double single (one slice of cheese) animal style with no tomato and adding the grilled onion ring. And remind them to keep the diced grilled onions on it that normally come on the animal style burger. Animal style they put mustard onto the patty when they grill it, have extra spread sauce and diced grilled onions. It’s the best way to get the burgers there. I take one slice of cheese off because the cheese overpowers the meat and I want to taste the beef.

thebritstry, I was recently shocked when I saw a video by this British guy who talks about esoteric things in history and science, and he pronounced the word "geyser" -- meaning, an area where hot magma underground is heating water and causing it to occasionally erupt in a huge amount of water and steam -- as "gee-zer" 😲 Do you guys say it that way??? 😲 The Americans say "guy-zer"!! 🙂 It was funny because, in the USA, a "geezer" is an old man who says things like "back in my day", "kids these days know nothing about good music", and tells people to "get off my lawn!". You know the type, yes?? But I read that in Britain, "geezer" means a young man who doesn't know anything about stuff works yet! That's interesting, eh?? 🙂 Speaking of geysers, did you guys know you can get a tour of "The Geysers" power plant here in the Bay Area? It's the world's largest geothermal power complex, with an output of over 730 MW!! It's being upgraded with three new plants of 20 MW each...experimental tech....if they work well they will all be increased to 200 MW each for a total of 1.3 GW output for the whole complex. Just google that phrase, "The Geysers", you will find Calpine's web site for the plant, and you can request a tour...they do it in summer. The tours are free but they fill up fast! They drive from you either Geyserville or Middletown...both up here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Public transit works best if you fly into Santa Rosa airport (STS) although you can do it from SFO too. Alaska Airlines has direct flights from San Diego to Santa Rosa! 🙂

Shame you ate the secret menu because the standard Double Double (with grilled onions) is the absolute classic and what a burger is all about. All those variations of 4-patties etc., don't really compare. Still glad you enjoyed, but next time, try just a Double Double.

If you go to Texas, definitely go to Austen and visit Terry Black's restaurant, they seem to be one of the best around. If you go to San Antonio, you must try a Puffy Taco, they are known for them and may be the only place to get them.

As someone who doesn't make video content, who is ancient in age and quite um, big let's say in body size - I can honestly say since I don't personally have a favorite fast-food burger, In-N-Out might be the most overrated stuff I've ever tried. Don't get me wrong, the burgers CAN be quite good. Can being the operative word. And don't get me started on their fries - they are horrible no matter if they are animal style or not or if you get them well done or not. Oh, but their shakes are pretty good lol and the protein burger is also kind of good lol I used to love the Whopper from Burger King when I was younger. But then I've had Five Guys, Shake Shack and other "fast casual" burger spots and they are all quite a bit better than a whopper (or Big Mac for that matter). In-N-Out doesn't even come close to a Whopper for me, let alone any of the other chains I listed. Yes, if the burger meat is nice and fresh and moist it's good. If the cheese is properly melted and the salad is nice and crisp, yeah ok it's good. But otherwise, overrated to me.

Yeah you skip there fries, the proper way to do fries is deep fry them, freeze then and fry them again, since the don’t have freezers at in-n-out that’s impossible. Also you guys being told the Flying Dutchman is new was funny, they don’t add new items there. Maybe once since the 60s
