"Americans don't have their own food, they only steal from other countries!" Well sure, if you ignore all the food that was created and/or popularized in the US, or how food evolves over time the same way culture does.

I prefer beans in my chili. But my mom hates beans in chili and she says it’s a texture thing. Also frito pies are amazing! My fiance and I go to this great spot in Oklahoma Where they glaze the top of the frito pies in green chiles!

I really envy you guys getting those great bagels. It would be hard to pick one over the other. Never had a desire for NYC except for some of the different foods and the theater.

As a Chi town native, I always prefer the dipped Italian beef. The bread is some shops can be a little on the dry side and a little too chewy. Also, try the Italian beef and sausage. The sausage adds another level of flavor and texture.

For years and years, I did not like tomato. Then I came to the realization that tomatoes are really only good for about two months out of the year! Boy, when tomatoes are in season they are THE BEST!

I must agree about the temperature. I love Chic Fil A but they might be a victim of their own success. They seem to be so crowded most of the time that it's not that common (though not unheard of) to get your food piping hot anymore.

Them having red beans and rice on Monday isn't an accident! The tradition of eating red beans and rice on Mondays in New Orleans dates back to the early 19th century, when Mondays were typically designated as "Wash Days" for Black families across the city. Since cooking and doing laundry at the same time wasn't practical, women would put on a pot of red beans and rice to simmer while they tended to their laundry. This allowed them to prepare dinner for their families without having to divide their attention between cooking and washing clothes!

It's like french bread in New Orleans has a different taste then any other french bread, it's because of the water.

Shout out to Yona Schimmel just down the street also on Houston St from Katz's which is also a Jewish run Delicatessan that has been around since 1910. Far less touristy, no lines, not as over the top expensive and is run by dudes that are 250 years old wearing aprons down to their ankles. Your order comes up on a dumbwaiter from the basement. Katz Deli is good but others are just as good and not as obnoxious.

I grow old heirloom varieties of tomatoes organically in my garden . The difference in taste between them and those tasteless red plastic things they sell as tomatoes in the grocery store is night and day. If you have only tasted the hybrid tomatoes from stores or in restaurants , I can understand why you don't like them . Those types of tomatoes are bred for uniformity of ripening time , heavy yields , resistance to damage in shipping , and ability to exist with chemical pesticides and herbicides ,flavor is not even a consideration . When I am picking mine in the garden , I often take one straight from the vine and eat it out of hand with no salt, pepper or anything else added .

I love your video reactions to trying new foods or better foods here in America. You two are living the life traveling around trying all these foods at all these restaurants around America. I don't know what you two do for work (job) or why you moved to San Diego, even though it seems like your never there, but it seems like your really taking advantage of your move to the U.S. and trying everything you missed out on while in Manchester. Keep making your great videos and I am glad to have you in the U.S. Stay here for a while or better yet forever.

Great review! However, for me a review on hotdogs without Portillo's and Johnnie's in Elmwood Park is not representative of Chicago. Must have a 100% all beef Vienna dog and a poppyseed bun from S. Rosen's. Superdawg is super cute and retro, and the hotdogs are great. But neither of these places are the actual real deal.

Frito Pie is definitely eaten for lunch or dinner ANY time! You make Chili, you have all the Go-With Goodies on hand! Fritos, Cheese, Onion or Scallions, Peppers. Some folks like a dollop of Sour Cream on top. Others like Hot Sauce on top of all of it. It's SCRUMPTIOUS STUFF! Welcome to Texas, Y'all! 😜

Yumm!! Once again you guys find one of the most quintessential items that really represents this particular place. Bagels scream NYC as London does fish and chips and curries. lol... No surprise, all of these bagels looked delicious. I love a plain bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers. Haven't seen many bagel shops up here in the Pac northwest. I'm sure there are some but I couldn't tell you where?? You guys have really made me realize how very regional many foods items are. Chicago hot dogs, Italian beef, Texas BBQ, Louisiana gumbo and other Cajun foods, Philly cheesesteaks etc.. So just a heads up, don't come here for the BBQ or the Mexican food either. Coffee, seafood, apples, potatoes, blackberries and cherries. And daffodils and rhododendrons. lol.. ♥ Beautiful landscapes.♥ Thanks for a wonderful video. Mila and Rich in Seattle.
