To point out the states completely in Asia there are 40, in addition there are 9 transcontinental states (Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Cyprus, Indonesia, Egypt). Since Egypt is considered Africa and Russia, being a Slavic people that conquered Asia, we consider Europe if we have to choose between Europe and Asia, in more buzzfeeds it considered 2 countries in the list that are not part of the United Nations or both Palestine, Taiwan (technically an integral part of China), so the number is 50 but according to my calculation, the countries of Asia are 47 (there are no Russia, Taiwan and Palestine in the list).

Okay, first of all, Indonesia's map is not complete. It's missing western part of Papua. Since it's part of Indonesia, it's also part of Asia. Second of all, I'm amazed that they know where Timor-Leste is. Those 2 in black are such top-of-the-class students.
