DV Lottery | Can you process by "Adjustment of Status"

DV Lottery info.
In this video, mainly for DV2022, I explain some of the key differences with the AOS process versus the CP process. It might be a viable option for "some", but not all. You at least need to have a valid Non immigrant visa for example.

Hey BritSimon! Thanks for the video, it was really helpful. I'm currently in the US and was selected in the Diversity visa. I would like to file my I-485 as soon as possible but just paid my DOS fee. Do you think I can just include a copy of the money order in the I-485 filing as proof of payment or do you think I need to wait for the official receipt from the DOS before I file? Also is it possible to file and adjustment of status and through consular processing and go with the quickest option or do you not recommend that? Thanks again for your help!

All so so so true! Did my AOS and follow to join back in 2020. Process was stressful, and sometimes I was felling that I'm not gonna make it. But at the end it worked. Hi Brit, I'm on L2 visa in US and my visa expired in March 2022 , for which extension has been filed before the expiration date. Does this mean , I'm out of status?

Filing AOS in USA is quite expensive , yesterday I paid over $2200 for filing , DOS and medical. I don’t recommend to go for a lawyer most of them they don’t know about DV lottery . I guess you have to send your documents to lockbox of Chicago , then lockbox sends back your documents to your nearest field office.

Please answer me on this one question. Does KCC email people asking them for an option to choose another embassy if the current chosen one is not working? Or they just ignore this particular case that has chosen an embassy that is totally closed?! I checked the embassy in my country on facebook and their website. They're pretty active man. But from the comments I understood they haven't taken DV winners yet. I'm from Jordan.

What if your D-260 is already at NVC, and you decide to travel to the USA on a B1/B2? How do you transfer your case from the embassy to the US?

A DV case is NEVER actually at NVC.

Hello, thanks for the video. I am the winner of dv2022, my cas number is 16K so i am now current for based on visa bulletin. I live in turkey now and I havent got my interview in here. Hi BritSimon, I was selected as Dv lottery 2024 with EU11110, I entered the US in 2022 as B2 Tourist and applied to asylum in my third month, and has been an asylum pendee so far. So i was never out of status considering asylum pendee is 'a status'. I am also getting married to a citizen this month. Was wondering if it is worth trying the dv lottery and is there any additional files i could add to support considering i will be married to a citizen maybe? (I want to wait a year to so marriage based greencard in case i get rejected from the lottery one.) Thank you Best regards😊

Thank you for the video. I have question though, so basically, you have to wait until your case number is current in the bulletin (within the fiscal year) in order to send the documents (I-485, medical, etc.) to the USCIS ? You can’t just send it to the USCIS after just noticing that you won the lottery right?
