Hole size is relative and directly proportional to the size of whatever is going into it. @ if something small is going into a regular size hole the hole seems large or cavernous, if something very large is going into a regular sized hole it the hole seems tight or full. General theory of relatively and proportionality. In this case it sounds as though he is working with small equipment and regular sized holes.

I think all those fishing weights are led. So two thoughts first be sure to wash your hands before eating with them. Second they could be recycled into some thing. You have probably found enough of them to make ballast for a sail boat or lots of bullets for reenactors.

It's disgusting how much hooks and fishing lines are left in the water... btw. the things growing on the turtles shell are barnacles, they drill them self into the shell and can be very dangerous. I have seen animales on the ground they could't move anymore, because they where so heavy and full of barnacles. But i think, this is nature :-(
