Her parents probably refrained from speaking in "baby talk" to her. Children are the most impressionable they will ever be from ages 2 to 4, and it's likely they raised her like a person rather than a living doll, which is an easy trap to fall into, because tiny children are *just so cute.*

For the fact that she was so young and the vocabulary she used in the movie was awesome! Not many 5 year olds know how to speak that well, so I’m honestly surprised. And Bug Hall who plays as Alfalfa was 9 years old, so I thought it was adorable for the little kids they did. I thought Brittany was older than that. She and everyone else did awesome!!!
