honestly as a gay man I love it because as much as women are subjected to this idea that they must always want to dress for the male gaze, gay men have it as well. Like nowadays a video could have millions of views and I’d have no idea what it was but I used to know the videos that got millions of views. And I guess it’s because social media is so saturated and everyone makes such different content that can go viral in certain communities on the internet

i love brittany's description of what she wants love to be like and how this nth wave of feminism is now much more commonplace in removing the importance of being desirable and attractive so we can discover all these other amazing qualities that make a person a person. this line of thought also makes me think of jo march's monologue from little women - she lists off all the amazing things women can be. but she ends it "but i'm so lonely." i would love love looooovvvve to hear brittany's thoughts on this because i feel like we're similar in that we know we don't need men's validation in order to be successful and loved, but at least for me, it leaves an empty feeling. do any other women feel this way? idk maybe i have high enough standards that it resigns me to be alone forever lmao
