While I do know it is common to use a #5 blade to do a pet grooming on a Brittany, I will say that you really shouldn't shave a Brittany like that. If it's what the owner wanted, then I guess I understand why you did it, but I'd be careful sharing this video as a correct way to groom a Brittany. Might just be good to note that.

What a real cutie pie, I have no idea how you got that Brittany to hold still like that, I have a 14 month old spade female and she is unbelievably active. My pup needs a trim even worse than yours here did. Any tips on how to get her to hold still and what grooming items do I need?

If your Brittany gets distracted easily maybe use that to your advantage and give your pup something to do. A toy if they are interested or maybe a kong with their favorite treat to help distract them while they're being groomed. Hope that helps at all. :)

What size blade should you use to sheer a Brittany? My husband wants her ready for hunting season so she doesn’t get a bunch of weeds and burrs in her fur. So we need to sheer our girl back bu I don’t want her totally bald.

@@suzettelegrady2621 : you’re going to want to leave some fur on so don’t shear going into winter hunting season. To cold. Burrs are a brit curse. Use a mane and tail spray to loosen the burr, slip a mane comb between the burr and the skin and cut off with scissors.

You need to work on having her stand up, stand still on a lead. That’s the first step of breaking out a dog. It will also set her up to be able to stand on a grooming table.

What a rude person you are. I do what the owner asks for. Not everyone wants to pay for stripping or carding. This is also an older dog and clipping her is much less stressful and a lot faster for her.
