We have the same sleep/meals schedule (give or take 15 minutes), we transitioned to 1 nap when he was 12mo, now 15mo. Also, we moved apartments (he got his own room for the first time, he'd been sleeping in a crib in our bedroom), got a montessori floor bed and he didn't have any problem with any of it, for which I'm super grateful of! Glad it went smoothly for you too! ❤

I love that crib! Mine also transitions to a toddler bed but it's just one side that comes entirely off, and I will have to buy a barrier separately if I don't want him to fall off. I appreciate you talking about this! It seems like arrow is always one month ahead of my son in terms of transitions, so I feel like I always can prepare myself through your experience.

I’m alll about schedules and routines 😂😂 if she ever sleeps less or wakes up sooner consistently you can always try extending her wake window in the morning or shorten her nap! Our 19 mo wakes up at 7/730 nap at 12-2:30 then bed by 7:30! We have been on wake windows since she was 4 mo 😂

Would you consider making a video of the things you like to do to keep your mood/mind happy. Like a more Mom centred video about different habits you’ve claimed since becoming a Mom that have helped you feel strong and healthy: hobbies, cooking, person interest/educational activities, activities/workouts. Things you’ve been able to do even with kids. Vlog style or vlog inserts 👌 would love to know your recommendations.

Love your info! My son is 23 months now and we transitioned from co-sleeping to his own little bed on the floor at 18 months. He was ready and loved that he got his own little space. We never used the crib and he slept in it only for naps usually because he just couldn’t stand it. I thought it was going to be so hard to transition him but we haven’t had any issues. He took to it right away because we hyped up his “big boy” bed. It’s literally just some nice twin size foam on the floor so he can’t fall off and I don’t stress when he wants to jump on his bed! It’s a good, cheap and versatile solution if you aren’t sure what type of bed your kid will like or if you aren’t sure they are going to love it right away!
@dawnforlife
@dawnforlife 2 жыл бұрын
This is so good to know Jamie! My girl is 17 months and we are still co-sleeping. We do it on the floor. Did you transition your son to another room too? If you don't me asking, are you still breastfeeding? Just wondering how it goes in the night when you have to wake and feed him in another bed.
@jamie7002
@jamie7002 2 жыл бұрын
@@dawnforlife hey! Yeah we aren’t breastfeeding and he sort of stopped waking for a bottle around 17 months or so. We kept him in the same room as us when we transitioned so that we could monitor how it was going easier (we don’t use baby monitors). The only issue he has had is that he is a thrasher so his blankets get tossed off him and sometimes he wakes up cuz he’s cold 😂. But after we tuck him in again he’s good. One thing I would suggest is before you transition to her own mattress try giving her her own blanket and pillow in your bed for a few nights if you don’t already. Then she has her new special items and doesn’t have baby swaddles etc anymore and it might be easier? My son hated swaddles so he had his own blankets since he was really little and it was safe to do so and I think it made stuff easier for him with the bed!

I am the same way. I have two kids and the only way I can survive is by having a structure routine! I go to the park with play dates and I have to run by 11:30 sh. Feel terrible always scheduling play dates until 11:30 many people I know can do all day at the park! However I have to do what works for me… My kids do way better when they are in a routine. I also receive judgment cause I do quite time for 1 hour for my 4 year old. But honestly mamma needs some time down, sometimes cook, clean or simply do nothing Anyways ! Definitely having a routine has helped my mental health and my acute anxiety.

I would love to hear more about Arrow's speech, what you are doing to work with her/teach her to talk, etc. My daughter is about 1 month younger than Arrow and we have been struggling to get her to verbally communicate and I know at their age they "should" be saying more words than what my daughter is able to speak at the moment. Do you have any tips?

My son is 19 months and babbles non stop and can say over 25 words. Every baby is different and I'm sure your daughter will get there however some things I've done include; explaining everything he is doing, explaining everything I am doing, walking around with him and pointing out everything we see. Letting him close the door and open the door and literally say "you're closing the door and now you're opening the door". Putting words with current actions and repetition will allow your child to understand what certain things are 😊

@jamie7002

I don’t think it’s necessary but it just helps with hyping up the transition and making it exciting rather than scary for them. For my son his own pillow and blanket is part of his night time routine, he grabs them and goes to bed with them and snuggles in and I think the novelty of those things is a good tool!

I think the times my baby have slept in her crib can be counted on one hand...she absolutwly HATED being in a crib. Because she was very mobile from the start, we first had her betqeen me and my husband, in our bed. Then, at 3 months, she fell out (due to my husband not building up enough duvets around one edge), and I sent him to Ikea to buy a 4 inch matress we could have on the floor. Now baby is 12 months. Will probably just transition her to the floor matress, just in another room
