Best to refrain from dating as a single mom. Children are 40x more likely to get s abused if they live in a home with a non bio related man. They are 20x more likely to die of physical abuse again, usually from the mom's boyfriend. Look up Darkness to Light for more info

I love these! One thing we do is for each of my kid's 1st birthdays we opened savings accounts for them. On the invitations for their 1st birthday we say on the back of the cards "In lieu of traditional gifts consider donating to their college fund" It might be tacky to some but it was well received with our family and friends. We plan on giving them their account at the time the graduate from high school. It doesn't have to be college... but it's an account I want them to use to invest in their future. Whether it be college, trade school, or a passion.

The sock tip! So simple & I can personally benefit from it myself too lol one thing I love doing since my daughter was a newborn is talking through whatever I’m doing when shes around, even if she’s not focusing on me directly. So when I’m cooking and she’s on the high chair eating her snack I talk through the steps and describe what’s going on, give her a sec and she responds. She’s 15mo now & It’s like having a back & forth convo

I love #10! I also use that with my kids. I didn’t know about them only hearing the last of the sentence. I always thought it was because kids respond better to positivity, rather than always being thrown negative at them haha 🤷🏻♀️

Omg that sock one... I was aware of the recommendation to stick the same sock so that they all match, but I didn't even think about how helpful it would be to have a slightly different sock when they go up a size. Totally gonna start doing this!

The idea to change the color or type of sock when you size up so you can tell the difference between them and the old socks is low key brilliant. And just in time! Mines going to finish out growing his current socks in a couple months!

It’s so true! My daughter isn’t even 2 yet & if she spills she grabs her own towel (most of the time) & starts to clean it. If I’m sweeping she grabs her mini broom & the list goes on! My daughter loves cleaning cause she’s always seen me clean 🤣

The cleaning tip!! Yes! I also won’t clean (unless it’s needed for safety or whatever) until everyone is home (including Dad)cos it’s all our responsibility to keep the house clean and I want her to see equal contribution. Plus my job during the day is to care for our daughter - not keep a house!

@@juicysmolliette2852 lmao sucks to feel stuck in gender roles I guess! We aren’t even married. I do lots more than just “play with my baby” including working in my own business. We are a household where everything is split 50/50, including money. Tell me you don’t know what being a SAHM is like without telling me 🙄 I guess I’m “lucky” I have a supportive partner who isn’t living in 18th century gender roles and expecting me to be his cook, cleaner & slave.

Oh I NEEDED this video! Thank you so much! My hack, if you're a stay at home mom just have enough sets of clothes for 2 weeks (if you do your laundry weekly). It's so much easier to store, maintain, and pick out outfits if you keep it minimal and simple!

These are good tips! I’m definitely upgrading my coffee. That will be a highlight! And you are right #10 is a game changer! Say what you want them to do!!!! My tip is try to find a way to say yes whenever you can!!! This is also a game changer… even if it’s yes in ten minutes we can go to the park. So much better than No, not right now. Shutting them down. 🌻💛🌻

My favorite "creative" activity for my almost 2 year old is water/light markers! They sell these huge matts that change color with water and light for them and she gets to draw on a large area and I don't have to stress because she's drawing with water and light markers 😁

Sock idea is genius!!! When my twins (boy and girl) were under 2 Probably we always wore tights (like what you wear with dresses/skirts in the winter so you don’t have bare legs) in the winter under their clothes because I found they always wanted to take socks off and it was annoying!! Was so so good and made life so easy! I know they are meant for girls but whatever it was for ease and another layer or warmth in the cold!
@thayerwilliams9052 жыл бұрын
Oohh! The tights idea is awesome! My kid literally doesn't care if his feet are until it's in the 40s. I'm the same way. So him taking his socks off wasn't a big deal, and I was constantly defending myself about not forcing him to wear them if he didn't want them. BUT his dad is one of those people whose feet are absolutely always cold, and if his feet are cold, he's cold. I've seen him feeling cold at almost 80 degrees. It's insane to me. But I've been thinking about what if kid 2 gets his feet and they're literally always cold? How do I deal with the sock falling off problem for that? I think I just read my answer!

@Ray-pt5bi2 жыл бұрын
Less is absolutely more, with Toys. Absolutely. Too much choice is detrimental. Same for gifts at birthdays and Christmas. The only things I Always accept books, or things She needs, or small things She wishes for (pins for her back pack, a new bell or light for her bike). The socks tip Is great. About snacks: if She wants One before dinner, She can choose it for After dinner, and put it on a Little plate or in a cup, ready for After dinner/naptime. This usually satisfies my daughter. Might depend on the Kid. Great idea about the cleaning in front of children.

I cracked up at what she said at 7:45 . Kids hear and copy/repeat all the things you don't even realize that you're doing. Sometimes I call mine little echos lol Also, about #10, one thing that I find works wonders is telling your child the correct thing to do instead of telling them what NOT to do. You can't do a don't.
