THE WHY: 1:44- 2:18
(aside from the health benefits of breastmilk…realizing now I didn’t mention anything about this pretty BIG factor, haha whoops!) It seemed like the cheaper and more option, this ended up not being totally true in my case, but I feel in love with the emotional and psychical connection with breastfeeding. This in the end is what keeps me going, because shizzz is hard.

Could we have captions? I'm deaf and captions make my life so much easier, this video isn't too bad because your face is always visible to lip-read but captions!! 💖 ETA: thank you guys for the likes, most people don't care about it and seeing these likes is making my heart so warm 🥺❤️

As of July 31st KZbin removed CC, I’m not sure when exactly it hit my channel, or if they’re removing them randomly or all at once :/ I’m trying to figure out my options now, but right now they only give me the option to type everything out manually. I’m so sorry :/ hopefully I find a solution soon 💗 I hate that KZbin did this!

Brittany thanks for sharing motherhood in such a non judgemental way. More women should communicate their experiences the way you do!! Breastfeeding was the hardest thing I ever attempted in my entire life. It didn’t work out for me, and I brought myself down for it and felt guilty and like I was failing my baby for over a year despite us switching to formula after a month. My daughter is over 2yo now and to any mommy out there reading this who is struggling or going through something similar I want you to know that your baby loves you unconditionally for trying so hard and you’re doing your best. Formula is a great option and it’s okay that breastfeeding doesn’t work. You’re a great mom, chin up and be proud!! (I wish I would have read something like this when I was sobbing in front of a 1/2oz supply that I pumped over 2 days..)

I’ve been waiting for this! My little one is 6 weeks now, your videos got me through pregnancy and now the first few weeks of motherhood. Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Just as I started watching this, my boobs were basically empty (supply issues) and LO was screaming the house down so had to hand off to hubby to supplement a couple ounces with a bottle. It’s a struggle, but you’re videos and insta are honestly a big help. Your personality really uplifts me!

I've been struggling so much with breastfeeding that I just stuck to pumping. Both have been incredibly painful and uncomfortable. My daughter ended up in the NICU bc I wasn't producing enough and now I'm severely overproducing. I've been hesitant about reaching out to a LC cause I didn't have such a great experience in the hospital, but it's getting to the point where I'm desperate. Seeing that it worked for you helps ease my mind a bit. This journey can feel pretty isolating, and it helps seeing that other moms have struggles they can overcome too. Thank you for always being so honest about everything. 💜

AWESOME video! I had my first 12 years ago and am baby prepping now since I’ll be 35 and its time to start family planning if I want another. I lasted maybe 2 1/2 months breastfeeding (actually pumping since my nipples were darn near torn off by my son). My supply dropped, I did horrible sticking with pumping at night, and he eventually went to strictly formula. I’m determined to make it work this time around so I’m doing tons of research (plus seeing everyone’s babies really help with my baby fever). I love your transparency and the fact that you normalize your journey not going straight. Some moms just latch on right away and boom, no problems, others, like you and I, take a few twists and turns.

I watched this when i was pregnant and am rewatching it now. Breastfeeding is the HARDEST thing i’ve ever done. My milk came in the second day after i left the hospital and i was also surprised how painful it was. My son would only feed 5 minutes on one side and fall asleep for about 45 minutes then want to eat again. I got NO sleep so this lead to me trying to pump, eventually getting two clogged ducts, one ending in mastitis. I spoke with 4 lactation consultants and eventually through google and advice of friends was able to get a good routine down using milk from the haakkaa if baby is hungry again shortly after initial feeding. I had no idea it would be so hard so i’m glad you shared this because it’s definitely not talked about enough!💕

I have insufficient glandular tissue, so I could only make about half of what my baby needed. I am 28 and really thankful for all the experience and knowledge before going on this mama journey. Having an older sister get knocked up twice and I helped raise the first from infancy to 3-4 was very informative! This was super interesting! 💖 My daughter is turning 7 weeks tomorrow and breastfeeding is going so well but boy was it hard in the beginning. My boobs got much bigger quickly and my nipples became inverted + they wouldn't harden, which made it super difficult to get a good latch. She would just lose it every time I tried to nurse her. I remember sitting on the bed on the 3rd day, bending over a spoon and trying to get colostrum out and just balling my eyes out. I thing I got 3 small spoonfuls in the morning and by night time I was able to feed her 20! And I just kept offering her the boobs and it eventually worked and has been working super well ever since. But thank goodness for my supportive husband and midwife who took the time to help and guide us through it. I can understand how people without support give up and just switch to formula, it's not always easy!

Currently pumping watching this. Formula is 100% easier from what I have heard. I however just want to do what I personally think is better for my little one which is why I keep trying to stick with it. It is hard though as you know lol my little one will be 5 months next week 🥺

My mom couldn't and didn't breastfeed me, however she didn't forget to shame me when I decided to stop breastfeeding. ))

I’ve been waiting for someone to make a video like this . Been experiencing the most painful breastfeeding for the first 2 weeks and I don’t know what to do 🌸

It could be a bad latch. If baby is latching correctly breastfeeding should be painless.

Ugh I love this video so much! I’m also new to breastfeeding and it is so stressful!! I’m constantly scared to have no milk or low milk. It’s a journey for sure.

I loved watching your pregnancy journey and these videos have been so helpful for me since I’m a first time mom and I feel like a chicken with no head lol. Wishing your beautiful family the best! 💗✨

Shields were my saviours too, even I could breastfeed for 6 weeks only. Baby girl is expected next week and I’m really anxious how the breastfeeding will go.

I wish I know of the 3 month change because that’s exactly when I stopped breastfeeding my baby because I thought I just didn’t have milk. A year later on my second child and I’m barely learning about it from you! Thank you so much hopefully I can push through this time

Thank you so much for this video. I'm still expecting my little boy but I'm so afraid of not being able to breastfeeding. Everyone says it's gonna be easy but I'm scared that it won't. Thank you for making this video. 😘

I’m so happy to hear that you were able to wean your little one off of the nipple shield. I’m currently struggling with it and really hate carrying it around with me. It’s so inconvenient. 😖
