This is what I try to do on Saturday rather than Sunday, so that Sunday, by the time we get home from church in the afternoon, is truly a day of REST. Saturday reset, Sunday rest. I'll also make a large dinner on Saturday that can spill over to Sunday so that I don't have to cook. I can truly relax, rest, and allow myself things that I wouldn't on the other days of the week, without feeling any guilt.

Absolutely. As a Christian and regular church attendant there is no way I’d have energy to do this on Sunday. I always have church clothes ready as well.

I do a reset on Saturdays as Sunday is the one day my husband and I have the same days off together. It works out well, I get the entire house cleaned, laundry done, fridges cleaned out, the next week’s meal plan completed and the grocery delivery done all first thing in the morning and by noon, my house is sparkling, meat and veggies prepped for next week’s meals, fruits and veggies cleaned and stored properly and the rest of the day is mine to enjoy before we go to our daughter’s house for dinner and game night. Like you, I have found over the past 41 years of marriage, that planning pretty much everything in advance really streamlined our lives, saved time and money and opened up a lot of free time for enjoying our couple hood and our children when they were young and now , again enjoying being a couple, parents and grandparents and also individual personal time. This past Sunday, I made a bulk batch of chicken tenderloins for 3 meal this week (bbq, fajitas and a quick chicken Parmesan), Saturday I made a triple batch of both breakfast and beef/bean burritos and breakfast sandwiches. I love tee’s and Oxford shirts with my jeans and the way I save on treating any stains from day-to-day life is wearing an apron, I use to chuckle at my aunts and grandmothers wearing aprons but those things really help to stop stains and grease splatter from ruining your clothes and it’s a handy item to wipe your hands on when they get a bit messy or wet. All this tips are perfect and just conquer one of these at a time and then keep on top it daily and weekly because when something happens where you can’t get to something that day, it won’t be overwhelming when you do get to it! You are such a wise young woman!

I do: 1. quick tidy just putting stuff away but no big cleaning 2. meal prep including make lunches for summer camp 3. get bags ready for Monday morning 4. wash and dry weekend laundry, put away if we have the time 5. at night after the kids are in bed hubby and I do planners together so we can divvy up tasks and errands based on availability that week

Great video! Currently my Sunday reset is: 1. Feed my sourdough starter in the morning. 2. Clean out my fridge and tidy the pantry ready for my groceries to come 3. Light tidy, dust and hoover of main living areas 4. Clean bathrooms 5. Get my groceries delivered and put it all away 6. Get the weeks worth of bread dough/pie crust/pizza dough made and in the fridge fermenting ready to cook throughout the week. 7. Get out meat for the week from the freezer. 8. Look over our homeschool plan for the upcoming week and get everything printed and together ready 9. Flop on the couch 😂

My Sunday reset: 1. Bathe the dog 2. Change the sheets 3. Do the laundry (it's just me so once a week is fine) 4. Set out work outfits for the week, including jewelry (I have way too much, I admit) 5. Do whatever meal prep makes sense for the week 6. Force myself not to work 😂

Sunday church. Saturday reset.
@moonglow77105 ай бұрын
I do Sabbath on Saturday and church on Sunday plus I enjoy a nap after church. I get up 5:30-6:00 on Sunday mornings and work about four hours before church. I just start at one end of the house and work through. If I get tired of doing the same thing, I mix it up and switch my starting point. A rule I made that works for me is I don't do anything above or beyond the kitchen work I have for that day because I get bogged down in kitchen work. I always have precooked breakfasts I've batch cooked during I day I've taken to do batch cooking. I LOVE Sunday reset. That after church Sunday nap is so much sweeter...coming home to a tidy, picked up, dusted, mopped, or whatever I chose to do that morning.

Sunday resets are my faaavorite. I have my house split into a cleaning rhythm Monday - Friday, rest on Saturday, and putz around my house after church on Sunday! Its a quietly productive day - more about “fluffing” than scrubbing 🤪. I typically run my husbands work clothes through the laundry, bake a little something simple for us to enjoy for the next few days, look over this weeks plans, and maybe choose one smaller project for reorganizing or whatever. I try to fit in a little reading time or catching up on my favorite KZbin channels. Every Monday morning I’m SO happy I had a Sunday reset.

Most important part of my Sunday reset is I make sure to stock up on meds and vitamins for the week ahead and plan and prepare my clothes so everything is clean, ironed and ready. My next step is to start planning the menu.

My Sunday reset is to change bed sheets, make breakfast, prepare groceries for lunch ( at least ) a couple of days ahead. Vacuum, dust, do bathroom a little scrub... make a cake ( it is my pleasure to do so). By the time the lunch is over, I am ready to go to bed , on a bright side bedroom is spotless 😅

Our lives often make it hard to do a reset on Sundays but I do try to incorporate it either on Saturday or on Monday. But I totally agree that a reset like this can make the week so much better.

Sunday reset yes! We are homeschooling (no fixed curriculum), and looking at the calendar for what lies ahead each week, then planning meals, school, chores, outings, etc around it brings huge mental readiness. Physical work no, there is not much time after church, and it is an early start due to band practice before church. But the planning, yes!

Love this video. We go to church, out to lunch, and then come home and our bodies go into nap mode. In the evening, we just have something like grilled cheese sandwiches. I thought it was strange that you were putting a roll of toilet paper on your jars of strawberries. Then I realized it was some kind of sealer for the lids. LOL

Love this video! You can also buy pre-shredded rotisserie chicken at Costco. Alternatively you can cook chicken in the crock pot overnight in some chicken broth and then use an egg beater to shred it in the morning.

I recently came across a video describing a Sunday Basket. I can’t remember the lady’s name, but the idea is setting aside one day a week to take care of mail, pay bills, and handle any other paperwork that you might need to do. I have a home based business (independent beauty consultant) and the paperwork is what slows me down the most. Since implementing my version of the Sunday Basket, everything is going a lot better! I also do a Sunday Reset, but as it is just my husband and me, kids are grown and gone, mine is different from most. It involves a quick tidy of the house, checking supplies and groceries that need to be restocked, and planning out my week, including meals. I love your videos! And you!♥️

I am always behind lol. The thought of ever catching up is so appealing to me. But I have a 3-month old and a toddler. Last sunday I recovered from a severe stomach bug, trying to keep my milk supply up despite not having eaten more than 300 calories. Whenever one of us is down, the other spouse just survives the day with the little one(s). I feel like we're not gonna be able to do regular resets here anytime soon 😅
@clairefischer84455 ай бұрын
Aannd thats fine ! You're obviously doing a great job feeding your baby and surviving a bug, i mean thats pretty amazing !! Give yourself grace, you are in a different season of life and things will evolve. Forget about catching up for now, its fine. You will get through it and it will get better !

You are for sure in survival mode right now ❤ I love FlyLady's advice of "you aren't behind, just jump in where you are". I've got a 4&5 year old now and pregnant again and I realized there is literally never going to be a time where I feel caught up so I just do my best for the day and call it good enough.

Vinegar for cleaning (check out clean my space for great recipes) and small open containers of baking soda. I'm a smoker in a very humid area and these two can make it seem like I've never smoked in the house 😊 A dehumidifier can be a huge help too.

Angie how do you keep your face so sun protected? I wear hats and sunscreen but being outside still seem to get color and I hate it!! Your face still looks so fair which is so great. I know you wear clothes so I understand how the color stays away from your body but your face?!
@Jessica_Jones5 ай бұрын
What kind of hats do you wear? And what kind of sunscreen? Depending on where you live and what SPF you're using, you may need to reapply throughout the day. I'm in the PNW, so I don't typically need as much, but on particularly burn-prone days I wear a wide-brimmed sunhat and use the Andalou Vitamin C Beauty Balm. It's one of the "cleanest" products I've found and gives a nice subtle glow :)
