Love the islander especially the piston powered versions.

Enormous thanks for sharing this walk around - I'm a huge fan of the Islander and fly it a lot in X-Plane 12! So much detail in your video, I'll probably do a livery of this very aircraft so I can fly it in the sim!

Does Unity Airlines still fly the Trislander? It says it’s still part of the fleet on the website but I know that info is outdated since it still shows JY-009 (the Islander that got mauled by Air Vanuatu Flight 241 6 years ago.) Also out of curiosity why is it only listed as having 9 seats? Lastly just out of curiosity how is YJ-005 doing? Believe this is old ZK-FVD for New Zealand.

I love this airplane, this one takes people to exotic places where the "big birds" cannot land. 😎I also love the Trislander, that is an odd but cool aircraft too. I saw it several times flew over Southampton in the early 2010s, when I was working on a cruise ship of Cunard (Queen Victoria). Trislander is not an aircraft you can confuse with any other.

I don’t know why you constantly refer to the aircraft as a ‘Britten-Norman,’ rather than ‘Islander’?

Bit or rust around the Ailerons ? How old is the Britten Islander ? I know the history, I fly it on my flight sim, I fly it around the Scottish 🏴 Islands.
@Pilot_Man_Bushe3 ай бұрын
Haha it almost could be rust! It's actually left over orange paint. It used to have more orange paint and then they painted over it with white, but didn't do a proper job. This specific bird is about 40 years old now. She's definitely seen some history since leaving the Isle of Wight! Happy sim flying. :)

Salut, tu as pu faire marcher ta licence canadienne pour voler la bas, ou tu as fait une conversion locale? Merci pour la video.

Bonjour Damien. Non, j’ai fait une conversion locale. Un examen écrit et deux tests en vol.

how many deegree down on the flaps take off and landing? thanks darren
@Pilot_Man_Bushe7 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching. There are only 3 flap settings on the Islander: zero degrees, 25 degrees, and 56 degrees. The manual prescribes 25 degrees for take off and 56 degrees for landing. Do you fly any airplanes yourself?

a whole lot of corrosion on that aircraft

Yeah, we operate in a marine environment, so it gets to these airplanes faster than in a continental climate.
