I know you love the live versions, but the video on this breaks me every time! This song is about Cole's dad, who tragically died when he was working on a vehicle and it fell on him. RIP Sgt. Swindell.

This song is about his dad. This is the live version, and the song is beautiful, the video to this one is really a tear jerker with he and his brothers at the end visiting their dads grave. A beautiful song for sure!

The video is a must! Opens with a phone call to Dad upon signing his record deal…. A few months later, Cole lost his father in a freak accident. Footage of visiting his Dad is real and, the first visit.

Great reaction to a touching song. I hope you'll take time to watch the official video, because it puts things in perspective. The video shows him breaking the news to his dad that he had signed with Warner Records. And within two months, his dad died in a freak accident and missed all the great moments in Cole's life, like his winning the New Artist of the Year Award, his singing with Luke Bryan and Alan Jackson and his first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry. The scene at his father's grave left me in tears.

I LOVE Cole Swindell...he is from the next town from me...however, the video is exceptional and the graveside video was actually the first time he went to visit his father's grave site! 😢

I would always watch the official video to a song before any live version. Most of the time the video ties in with the song and makes it a better experience.

I'd never heard of Cole Swindell at the time I first heard this song and it made me an instant fan. Definitely one of the few great story songs in a while for newer country. The official music video makes it much more emotional too. You should be there lol 🤣

Country music tells a story, usually one of some type of hurt or heartache- You cant get the same meaning from the live version... the video depicts the story/message in the song In the actual video... it has live footage of his brothers w him at his fathers gravesite ... The original video, as other people have said- Is a must watch ... but i notice that many times here ... its always live and rarely ever the official video

Great question! A lot of these redheads also write their own stuff, which might be one thing that helps them connect to the music. There's a ton of young male vocalists in country music, I think Cole Swindell will have a longer career than most of them.

i lost my dad a little over a year ago and its been a tough year. he didnt make it through a surgery. Its a tough one. I have to keep my mind busy or i get caught in memories and then i get a little misty eyed. Going to sleep is the worst because no matter how tired i am i find myself laying in bed for hours just running through memories until i finally pass out. its been a tough year

Dang girl, the live version doesn’t give you the visual of what this song is really about. If you prefer the live versions, maybe you can do both, the live version, and the original music video, for us fans who want to see you get the full experience of the song? Maybe? Pretty please…

NOOOOO, again another song that NEEDS the video.. Who is requesting these songs but not telling you these important things? Also, why are you throwing the official video in the ad then we click and you got a live version?? Cmon now.. lol, get all excited your bout to react to this video and then click and an immediate let down knowing you tricked us and it’s a live version. This is for his father, which the video would have shown that.
