Gabriel's first language is Portuguese being from Brazil. He actually does sing these songs live. The tracks are obviously pre-recorded, but his vocals are live. He has an unbeleivable ability to interpret any English song he sings flawlessly. He studies the meaning of the song and then develops the proper emotion of that song perfectly. He truly was born to do this and I think God did hand picke him and gave him a special gift to be shared with the world. He is an extremely humble young man who is still navigating his way through a rough and tumble industry. He was raised in the church in Brazil and has a very deep faith that is at the core of who he is. His dad is a worship pastor in Brazil and his entire family are very accomplished musically. Gabriel is self taught, but only recently has he taken on a voice coach just to keep his incredible instrument finely tuned. As you can see by going onto his KZbin channel he has close to 250 cover songs that he has recorded. The list is huge. Most of the songs he sings in Portuguese are Gospel or contemporary Chrstian songs although you will find some gospel songs in Englsih as well. Ok that's probably enough information on the phenom. Just curious. I am not a music expert. I am just trying to understand more about this. I know he can definitely sing live as seen in his car videos and live performances on stage. But for these videos, I thought they were live too. But then videos like Lead The Way where he seems to be singing outdoors on a hill made me wonder? Or was that backdrop just a green screen (but you can see the wind blowing though his hair)? Or was that really live and he was really singing outdoors? Or was Lead The Way the only pre-recorded video? Also, sometimes there are some effects like reverb. These can be done in a live performance? Some people also questioned the mike he is using saying it is looks very nice but it is not a good mike that can capture such a good sound. Again, not trying to start an argument here, but really just trying to understand more about music performance and recording. And the places he records these videos - living rooms etc, would they be able to provide good enough acoustics for his videos?

The videos he recorded outdoors are probably pre-recorded vocals but I know any inside stuff he does live, and they add the reverb and any other effects to his voice per normal.

my dear, when gabriel does a cover for an audience he first makes a musical arrangement based on gospel soul, edits the song and plays the plyback When he sings live, it's not recorded. Gabriel is so good that he makes his own arrangements for the cover first.🇧🇷🇧🇷

Some people in Brazil, including a vocal coach, doubted that Gabriel would have this perfection live, they thought it was all due to pre-recording, autotune, that sort of thing. That's when he did the series singing in the car with just the microphone on his cell phone, lol. A few years ago, he participated in a talent program, Shadow Brasil, where one of the judges is a music producer (there are videos on Gabriel's channel singing live on this program). This producer says he's never seen anything like it, Gabriel sings in perfect tune live, just like in the videos, and that it doesn't matter whether he uses autotune or not, it's the same, lol.

I understand why a lot of people think that this and other of his covers are pre-recorded, people also doubt his abilities in whistling, which is fine, he is so incredibly good that it is only natural for people to question if the videos are live or if he is just lip singing after recording the song in the studio, having said that I suggest you react to a Mariah Carey´s cover, a song by Foreigner I want to know what love is, but the car version, listen to what this man does in one take with no especial effects, auto-tune or anything else, sitting down in the car and then you will see what a good singer is all about. Hi Britt! If you want to listen to Gabriel singing in Portuguese, I suggest "Lugar Secreto". Also, one of the best things I've ever heard in my life was Gabriel Henrique singing with Pedro Henrique (both have "Henrique" in their names, but they are friends, not relatives). They sang two songs together: "Oceanos" (a Portuguese version of "Oceans" by Hillsong United) and "Porque Ele Vive."
