I've seen her live twice since she had her dental work ... and to these ears her vocals are as stunning and beautiful as ever. This performance was particularly moving to me because that 1 1/2 year old performance was with her mom Sara (you can hear her softly singing just a couple of times), and says a lot to me about a mother's love for her child.....especially THIS mother's love for THIS child. Gives me chills just thinking about it even now, while listening to Angelina sing it at age 18.

When You're singing to one of your greatest mentors of your life. You have to do your utmost to honor this song. And Angelina does nothing but honor and give her utmost vocal abilities to Whitney Houston's classic song. Remember she's doing this live for the first time ever in her life and she delivered a masterful performance. Dolly made another recording for the 1985 or '86 movie The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, in which she started opposite Burt Reynolds. It went to # 1 on the Country charts once more. @ If you want to listen to Jolene, I strongly suggest not one but three versions. First you need to hear the record from 1973/74. There is an impact and atmosphere of urgency that you will feel. Second, several people have slowed the playback of the original and it is almost unbelievable how perfect her vocals are and how good the musical track remains. I recommend that you listen to the version that was used on the TV show The Blacklist. I don't think the vocals have been altered but other posters have altered the track to make Dolly sound like herself. Dolly sounds great, though unrecognizable. Some think she sounds like Tracy Chapman or even a man. Third, the only other essential recording is one filmed in black and white, in a recording studio. It was made for the movie "Dumplin', a film about a teen who is a fan of Dolly. The producer, Linda Perry, wanted the musicians to play in a manner that suggested the Beatles record Elinor Rigby. It was also part of a TV program, Dolly & Friends which aired on CMT in 2018. Enjoy!

As Jim Thiel mentioned, this is Jordan’s wondrous tribute to WH, the last song in the concert. Just as the audience thought the song was about to end and began to applaud, Jordan had extended it to make it her own and gave us that beautiful last note, just as she never sings the ending of any song live the same way, Bad Valentine being a perfect example. I guess it goes back to her training as a jazz musician and singer.
