The people who think the argument was “intense” “too much” maybe should go back to watching soccer bodybuilding or the aggression, the lack of balance at times that comes with it is not for everyone. I stand by this

I stand by the episode but if that became the norm, which ofc it isn’t than I would struggle to listen to future episodes as ngl I watch fouads for education purposes as well as a laugh too, and also to hear different POV about a particular subject. When I’m pissed off about something that’s really got to me, I look forward to fouads podcasts to help take my mind of it or decompress so I can address the issue I was having that day, but if they are also heated and arguing in the podcasts, it makes make w.e negative thing I’m dealing with even worse lol He’s addressed it this episode and I have full confidence that he will now cap those debates and move on when he see’s things are getting heated 🙏🏽

I wouldn't necessarily classify your previous podcast as a "fight" or "argument". It was simply a matter of various opinions/various views on a specific matter. It's ok to not agree...its being indifferent and that is no crime. Keep it real on the podcast....that's why we love your podcast so much! I personally enjoy that fact that you guys show who you are and how you think or feel and don't hide anything. 💯 No negative came out of it from my perspective. In fact, I went home and asked the same question of balance vs. happiness. Everyone I asked had a different opinion which was perfect in my eyes because everyone thinks/feels different and it helped to take me outside of my own box and look at it from their perspective. It was enlightening to see how people think/feel.

The last podcast got a little intense, but I still enjoyed it. It's an important topic and I'm glad you're touching on it. I think balance has Its role in bodybuilding. I'm not even a professional but I remember I had gotten so obsessed with dieting, my family had to step in and say something. 90% is a good rule. I basically told myself "I'm not a pro, I just want to look a little better."

If this helps, I work with an endocrinologist. We mostly see Diabetes patients, so it is so weird hearing the cross-over of bodybuilding and the medications I prescribe every day. I am an expert when it comes to this. When we receive a diabetes patient who is severely hyperglycemic, after medications that help the pancreas, we prescribe long-acting insulin FIRST before quick-acting (Novolog, Humalog, Etc.). Both types of insulin usage do typically make the patients gain weight. More hypoglycemic attacks are associated with quick-acting insulin. There are insulin 'mixes' that are 75/25 long-acting and fast-acting insulin. It is basically the best of both worlds. Ben was not using much Novolog in comparison to his carbohydrate intake, but Fouad-not gonna lie-was using a shit ton of insulin. The same amount we typically prescribe for severely insulin-resistant 400+lbs diabetes patients. If you are using insulin, you definitely need to check your glucose levels consistently. It can be an amazing tool, but you NEED TO KNOW what you are doing. The best advice is to start small and titrate every 3-5 days (for long-acting) to your target glucose levels. If you don't know wtf you're doing, you can seriously fuck up your insulin sensitivity, carb uptake, and have hypoglycemic attacks. Again, this is in reference to the medical world, so things are definitely different when it comes to bodybuilding... be very cautious if administering insulin prior to your workout... We see many complications with patients who do so. They wear continuous glucose monitors so we see their 24/7 BG fluctuations. Administer less on training days or low carb days (clearly) and more on rest days/ high carb. 15 minutes before meals. Be safe everyone! I hope this helps. If anyone has any questions about insulin use, comment! We do work with bodybuilders as well (especially to fix their kidneys) so I know how to help not just diabetes patients. :)

Fouad making his statement at the start is why he's a gent and one of the best 🙏 I personally didn't have an issue with the argument as there's nothing worse than a host having "sheep" on the show that just agree with them to stroke their ego, I like seeing difference of opinion!
