I mean its justified as to why we say that. Gen Z and late Gen Ys were the first to grow up along side the internet and even then, at least we knew how to entertain ourselves if there was no tv or video games. And the internet wasn’t as stable as it is now so even using the old pc was a chore sometimes. I’ve seen kids now with an entire shelf of toys yet barely play with them. Kids have be active for them to learn how to be creative and play with their imagination. Sadly though, can’t say its easy, modern parenting now is hell, it’s understandable why parents just give the child the phone or iPad because its stressful

If you are over 14 and you were raised in a decent educational setting then you do not represent well the part of the population with unrestricted access to this type of content since the stroller years. According to a 2023 Harris study, 46% of children below 10y old have their OWN phone and for 9 out of 10 it was since 2y old or younger (and that's considering that people all confess and want to respond to the survey). Anyway i do have hope for younger generation and their ability to adapt, but we may see a drastic change in executive functions and mental availability.
