As mentioned by others, the guitarist is Alvin Lee. One of the "guitar gods" of the 60s/70s. Ten Years After was one of the biggest bands from 70-75 even though they only had 1 real hit. (I'd love to change the world). Alvin Lee however never liked the superstar status though. Some great live performances are: I can't keep from crying ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5S6lJSGZcR_aNE ) and Help Me ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2KcgICAZrZsn7c ). You will see some great things in those songs.

Alvin Lee is the lead guitarist with Ten Years After. He was called The Fastest Guitar in the West. He played with incredible passion and intensity. You dont know him because he didnt have the commercial success. He was encouraged by recording companies to produce more commercial recordings but that was something he didnt go after. He like Rory Gallagher was trying to stay true to his art.

My friends and I absolutely loved this band in the late 60s and early 70s. I think we had most of their albums when we could afford them! A couple of tracks from their Cricklewood Green album I would recommend are As The Sun Still Burns Away and Love Like A Man - the latter was released as a single but the album version is longer and has a great guitar solo. Also, the riff will definitely get stuck in your head!

You're the best guys!First, because, you're the first twins I can recognized! 😂👍There are few, little differences, but, I, think I can! 😂After, because, I'm following you, since few months, and, you're liking the same kind of stuff I'm likng! Then, watching at that song, makes me remember, about my father who died, too much young, only 59, I was 20 at WOODSTOCK, so, when I was listening at Woodstock, WHOLE vidéo, of the Warner Bros, 3h video, with all the bands, he always came in my room, (I was teenager, I hated that😂as all the teenagers, go out of my room, but, now, it's so good memories), and when he saw Ten years after, he called ALVIN LEE THE LEAD GUITARIST, SINGER, THE MAD MAN! THE CRAZY MAN! (I'M NOT SURE, as a French man, I'm not sure about the word, sorry, in French he called him "LE FOU" 😂👍Because, of the faces he's had, while he was playing!)..... It's, really, cool to see that again, and your young men, reactions! Seriously, which kind of band or who, could do such a performance today?!... How he's involved! Like ALL THE BANDS AT WOODSTOCK, THEY WERE ON ANOTHER PLANET! ANOTHER GALAXY! That's why it's so much legendary! (don't forget they did that, with 500,000 peoples in the audience! 😱)..... PS: did you noticed, the moment you can see the drummer, and, Alvin Lee? The drummer was ALVIN'S BROTHER! And, they are very much alike! Like 2 FUCKING TWINS! 😂😂😂😂😂😂Thanks for your reactions guys! PEACE FROM FRANCE BRO! 👍✌️😂🎸🇫🇷

One of my favorite guitar players from back when I had hair...they guy was amazing. But often overlooked is the band's bassist. A more frenetic bass player I've never seen...he could keep up with Alvin Lee's lightning licks. And from the way he holds the bass and his pickless fingering you can tell he cut his teeth on an upright acoustic bass fiddle.

I wish you had a time machine too, although you had to like potato chips, Cheezies, pop and beer, because that what we were living on. I was there but missed Ten Years After because we were trying to start our car i.e. dead battery in our 1965 Pontiac. They did drive by us on the way to the stage , or at least some of their entourage or group did, because they asked us to move to the side of the road to get through. I always loved Alvin Lee (saw him later in Toronto) but one of the other impressive things here is Leo Lyons on bass keeping up. One of the all time great live performances IMO.

That's Alvin Lee on lead guitar and vocals. Wanna hear some of his greatest stuff? Start with "ALVIN LEE - The Bluest Blues" with Alvin on lead guitar/vocals and his mate George Harrison (Beatles) on slide guitar. It's a studio version, but it's SPECTACULAR! Then do Ten Years After "I'd love to change the world" (again, Alvin on guit& vocals). You'll thank me later for it.

There was a reason the late, great Alvin Lee carried the same 3 nicknames his entire career.....Captain Speedfingers, Fastest Guitar in the West, and my personal favorite, the Man Who Played Faster Than His Shadow. Alvin Lee's finger speed was so incredible that he once fingered a groupie backstage and she exploded!!
