Two newer songs by John Fogerty you need to hear. The first is "Mystic Highway". The newer one is "Weeping In The Promise Land" which is about the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, USA, about the COVID-19 pandemic, the bad that Trump has perpetrated with the pandemic, and police brutality here in the US.

I realize I'm reacting late to this. But I grew up on CCR. God I wish we had bands today that actually played instruments and sang without auto tune. This kind of music is timeless.
@DJMaul10312 жыл бұрын
The absolute beauty of this song is how you can sing along after the first chorus. You can't help it. It just hits the soul.
@condor78102 жыл бұрын
CCR's output was phenomenal....what is equally mind blowing is how young John Fogerty was when he wrote and released all of CCR's classic material: age 21 to 25 (1966 to 1970)

Yep, CCR are certainly American treasures! Since you like them so much, I will also recommend (again) The Doobie Brothers, another outstanding American band with a great vibe and harmonies. You will love them, I promise (a favorite of Alex & Andy). Start with Long Train Running.

Southern Blues and Folk music are the roots of American rock. Those bands that have aligned themselves most closely to those roots are the bands that have stood the test of time. Music that stirs the soul. No matter the generation. TIMELESS!

LOVE CCR! This song replayed in my head over and over when I left home at the age of 20. Yes, Please pass these songs on to the younger people...the music back then was heartfelt and genuine. Every group played their own instruments. Sadly...it's not the same these days.

What’s incredible is how many hits they pumped out in their short time together. They could do a 3 hour show and play nothing but great songs!
@trevorsneath46653 жыл бұрын
Yes they could have, but sadly didn't. Forty to forty-five minute set. I'd be interested to hear of any that went longer. But because there songs were nearly all radio length, they could fit a lot in. John stretched out on Keep on Choogling for about 8 minutes, and it was glorious.
@doplinger13 жыл бұрын
@@trevorsneath4665 - I suppose if you took the tracks and played them with no pauses in between and exactly as long as studio releases you may be right. But I saw them in concert probably 5-6 years ago, albeit without John, and they certainly did.
@trevorsneath46653 жыл бұрын
@@doplinger1 Yes! A totally different set up with Stu and Doug's version of the band. And John does longer shows now. But back in the 60/70's which is when I saw them, that wasn't true. Sadly. They would often have 2~3 support acts to pad out the event. That wasn't CCR's doing but rather, the local promotor/host of the concert venue. As a side note: it's been interesting since the first lockdown in the US to watch the clips John has put out using family as musicians. He has one of the best rock voices of all time.

I think I was about 14 /15 when I heard CCR for the first time. It was a single ( they made 45 singles then, just two songs, A side and B side) So it was either Traveling Band or maybe Up around the Bend and I got hooked right away. CCR became my favourite band over Beatles or Rolling Stones. My aunt sent me some LP-s from US and it was a great miracle that LP-s came through the soviet customs. So guys - when you will have kids just play them CCR Sailor's Lament or Molina or Midnight Special or Hey Tonight and the whole family can sing along Mo-liii-naa .... Heeeey To-naaaait ;-)

John Fogerty did a song called "The Old Man Down The Road" during his solo career and his former band mates tried to sue him on account it sounded too much like "Run Through The Jungle" and, well, it didn't work of course, because John wrote both songs!, I couldn't believe they would try something so foolish!
