The bass player is out of tune, he's flat and too loud, he probably didn't tune with the other instruments during sound check. If the bass, because it is so dominate and playing counter to the melody is off, it makes the singers sound off. The vocals sound on key, the sound man should have the vocals turned up more, the band is too loud. Listening to "Flowers" the vocals are tight and in the right key, the bass is completely off key. There are monitors on stage, the band director should have corrected this on the first song.

Wow...never seen this much talent at one concert. I would of flew in for this epic gathering of the 🌟 FBA R&B muses. Most of the musicians of this era are between 55 and 85 years old, awesome. Black American music is like no other. Thank you to them all for giving the world the best wonderful music ever.

I always loved them too. But it's true, when you're off key, the vocals aren't up to par. Just.like Frankie Beverly of Maze. It happens, when the vocals are weak as such. Some artists are great as yesteryear. And that's a good thing.

The Emotions is Wanda the original group singer with her daughter on the left side of her and friend on the right whose daughter is Shanice the singer who made the 90s hit I Like Your Smile. Sister Sheila has long retired along with older sis Jeanette who sings gospel. Younger sister Pam who stepped in Jeanette’s spot has died a few years ago.

Whoever posted this video, don't know anything about The Emotions because, that's not Sheila. It's Wanda, that's singing the lead. Sheila is not even there. Wanda is the only original from the group in this performance. The other two girls are strand in.

Their voices are lost under the track, the e.q. is OFF & its unfortunately making them sound off & as an only 45 yr old woman, this is my FAVORITE Female singing group so i know how GREAT they & their harmonies are, especially on the "we hold the key to the world destiny". It's time for all of these people over 70 to go sit down. Gladys Knight still sounds superb and Diana Ross doesn't sound bad but everybody else needs to go sit down. Chaka Khan still sounds perfect but a lot of her performances she is very winded but she's been like that for the past 40 years but she still can sing. Chaka Khan has been on and off for the past 50 years but not because her vocal ability is gone, it's because of her drug use. So that has not changed.

its called a GREAT SOUNDMIX. Also having a geat band and three background vocalists to help fill out Chaka's sound live. It's a team effort. Ala wardrobe, hair make and glam. It's a team effort. A team that helps you sound and look your best at that performance.

I wish they all never retire. But at some point they probably should. Gladys Knight sounds great but she lacks so much energy on stage these days. 😢 Diana Ross been lip synching few songs in her set. 😢.. Bless them. Best we could do is just enjoy what they give us. Which is certainly a lot more than these young singers.

@@thankthelord4536 I didn't say that she probably doesn't do that but she still has her tone and her range. She still sounds like herself. The longevity might not be there and I just saw a concert that she did out of the country and she was 100% and then two nights later I saw her concert in the same country and she was high as hell. I stopped going to see her because I have had either wonderful times, a horrible times because of her drug addiction. But her voice is still almost 100%. Not necessarily the delivery. She does not SOUND bad. I saw her 30 years ago and she was horrible but she was extremely high.
