I'm so glad the KZbin algorithm showed this to me. What a talent. So many of my friends worked with him, and I had the pleasure of meeting and drinking with him on multiple occasions (and seeing him on stage many times). This is such a loss to the theater community, and it shows perfectly how bright his light shined. My condolences to everyone to who loved him.

So glad you made this film to showcase the heart and soul of Broadway and the thrill of performing through Gavin’s eyes. It will forever be a testament to his lifelong love of performing to make people feel, think, smile and be inspired by storytelling and music. His love for his craft is palpable and the timing of this film is bittersweet as he is shown at the height of living his dream mere months before his tragic passing today. Such a gifted performer and a never ending beacon of light for Broadway. He will be greatly missed by so many he touched with his music and love. RIP Gavin.😢

I didn't know Gavin personally. But it feels like I did. I grew up listening to his voice and followed his career as a budding musical theatre actor. The passion he had for the art and for life was contagious, and it was an absolute shock to the system when the news broke out. RIP Gavin, may we all aspire to be full of life like you.

As a guy from Detroit who made his way to NYC, this video was touching, especially since Gavin Creel has recently passed. RIP, Gavin Creel-such a loss for Broadway.

Gavin’s speaking voice is/was (still feels weird and strange to be using the term “was” in relation to him) quite soothing to listen to. Sounds nearly identical to Jonathan Groff’s speaking voice (not to mention looking more than a little bit like a slightly older version of him). Also, it’s quite haunting to watch this and see him appearing to be completely normal, fine, well, and healthy, knowing that 2 months later he would be diagnosed with cancer and then 2 months after that he would die. Some forms of cancer have people not showing symptoms at all, or having symptoms that are mild and subtle that could easily be mistaken for more mild conditions or barely having any at all, which I guess is why it didn’t get diagnosed until it was too late. And even in the last few months of his life, there was almost nothing to suggest that he was going through what he was going through at the time, he didn’t look sick. God I hate cancer man. Fuck it. Gavin should still be here.

The choice of Gavin Creel to make this short film was excellent. Gavin truly embodies that journey from youthful dreams of Broadway, to becoming a bona fide Broadway "Star!"

This video does so much to capture Bway's vitality - and in such a short time! It touches on Broadway history, captures what it's like for so many theater kids to dream big and move to NYC, talks to Bway stars about what makes the live-theater experience irreplaceable, and talks to fans in the Theatre District about what draws them to New York City to see the shows (which we absolutely love for obvious reasons). Excellent work!
