It’s almost like he was trying to combine everything he loved about performing, as if he knew there might not be another performance. He interacted with the audience, mentioned hair, encouraged the singers, and gathered everyone to dance together. This performance almost reads as a goodbye. Rest in peace Gavin Creel 💚

Well he was diagnosed after this performance. That’s what’s so scary, this happened so fast…

Unfortunately the kind of damn cancer he had is unbelievably aggressive,fast and almost always diagnosed too late. This is also what's been driving me crazythis past week,not only gone too soon,but he had to face all that,that beautiful soul
@bernardfarquharson3275Ай бұрын
@@elisa_lily exactly. The saddest thing about this video to me is not that it sounds like he’s saying goodbye. It’s that he didn’t know he was dying when he sang this.

You know when people say that Freddie Mercury at Live Aid is the best example in rock concerts of how to reach everyone in the audience,make them feel completely involved? I think Gavin here is the equivalent for a performance in a theatre (obviously not talking about entire shows,but as a quality in an actor/singer) Pure joy...and of course talent,kindness,fun. Wnat a gem 💐❤️

I saw Gavin in Into the Woods a couple years ago and I instantly fell in love with him. He was such a huge inspiration to me and so many others. I also just saw Mamma Mia for the first time over the summer, and I became obsessed with it- I’m performing The Winner Takes It All at an event at the community theater I’m a part of this weekend. I had no clue that this crossover had happened, but it’s bringing me so much light in the news of Gavin’s passing. He truly was the greatest

This is _not_ the performance of a man who only had 6 months to live. 😢
@flannerymonaghan-morris4825Ай бұрын
This is so haunting to watch, especially considering that it very well was likely to be his last ever public performance, though no one knew of it at the time (I think that maybe not even Gavin himself knew if it would be his last performance or not). There’s almost nothing here to suggest that he was going through what he would go through later. He certainly doesn’t look or act or feel sick at all, in any way. Strange how some cancers are just so asymptomatic or barely or mildly symptomatic that no one knows that they have gotten it until much later. God, fuck cancer. I hate it. HATE it. First it took Marin, now it has taken Gavin. Fuck, man, why does it have to take all of the good ones away from us?
