Oh my heavens. What a story. I’d wondered why we hadn’t see Sara on Broadway in so long. Sara, I’m SO GLAD you are HERE and getting to be so present and full of joy in this show. Paul, this is one of your best interviews, you handled with so much love and care. Wow.

Great Interview Paul. Addiction can be made salacious and tabloid like - you held the space for Sara to tell her story - and as someone else who is in active recovery, I am so glad shes still here sharing her talents with all of us and is happy and healthy

That was a lovely, articulate, warm interview filled with grace and gravitas. We had the pleasure of seeing Water For Elephants last week, and I didn't know Sara's backstory until now. The show is spectacular and she is wonderful in the role. I felt a sense of safety whenever her character was on stage. After hearing her story, it made it all the more special that she did the Red Bucket speech for Broadway Cares after the curtain call the night we saw it. Such an inspiring story, and so brave and thankless of her to share it with the world!

God bless her. So happy that she is healthier. It's scary that drugs that are used to help also do such harm. Praying for her and everyone else who faces addiction.

Wow! I saw Sara tonight in Water for Elephants and she absolutely shined. I wondered what other roles she had been in because she reminded me so much of Cher! Come to find out, Sara has played the role of Cher and I actually saw her performance in Maine. I remember her being extremely emotional at the end of that show and I feel like I understand what she was going through after hearing this interview. So glad I came across this. You have a new fan Sara Gettelfinger. 🥰

So proud to hear her tell her story. This is important. It is also eye opening to see that people in a union are not being drug tested and this is allowed to happen, just like in Hollywood. How? Every other union I know does drug tests and random tests often. What am I missing here? Seems like the union is not doing enough to protect people and the business itself. These are the kinds of things that make me not want to support this type of industry.
