I love the playing, the piece and the piano. I own 29098, also from 1818. Mine is a work in progress, and video's like this remind me why I'm doing it!

Beautiful! And thanks for showing the details of the piano, especially the short section showing the action.

This piece sounds wonderful on this instrument! Its tone is very dulcimer-like.

How beautiful and so transporting back in time. We are hearing the same sounds that people were so eager to hear should they have been so privileged as to have a concert performed in their candlelit salons. The tinkling quality of the piano forte was beautiful. Thank you for this performance!

Amazing how similar English pianos of this period are...

I have a very similar Broadwood from 1814. It's interesting that on yours the top section of strings have the tuning pegs on the right hand side of the instrument. What temperament do you use for tuning?

If you are interested in history and development of square pianos, you need this book www.squarepianos.com/book.html I like the Werkmeister III temperament or the “nearly equal temperament” offered by my tuning device…

@@jankappes That's great! I've seen the book before and have been meaning to get a copy. The piano sounds lovely!

Great Shubert! was a very remarkable, but a great lost talent. And I consider him, the Prince of Classical Music. But tragical. The one who stole his fame and popularity, the most horrible musical creature of the time or the son of the Devil, Paganini. And the other one, who took his very young and precious life, SYPHILIS! :(
