I’m not sure if a gifted writer of satire and/or social commentary could structure this any more effectively. The smiling oblivion! The ridiculous display of class divide and entitlement! The perfect exposition in real time of who is actually doing the blood and sweat labor of food production and for whose benefit! Now it is quite possible, and I hope this is the case, that this family food dynasty has at its core a deep commitment to these laborers and their families. But to completely ignore and not acknowledge these folks, to not at least take a moment and parenthetically thank them or show appreciation, is just so emblematic of the taken for granted belief system about this vastly important sector of labor, the most exploited and under acknowledged in the country. If the average consumer could see the sheer number of repetitions of this process these workers are engaged in and the astonishing volume of work they accomplish in a day they would be amazed. This is the real story here and its playing out right here on this stage and at this very second in this country eleven years later.

I love it. I’m from New Jersey and eat Andy boy broccoli rabe two times a week and make some cool stuff with it . That taste really is perfect
