Back when we were ‘hunter-gatherers’ the men would go off to hunt (return just occasionally with a bit of meat) & the women collected tubers, roots, greens , fruit, nuts, seeds. The starches & fruit kept us alive & were the mainstay of our food. Fruit was a natural part of our diet.

Hi Ami, my name is Sagit, I happened to come across your videos following my transition to veganism, beyond the excellent advice as a mother of 4 boys, who are already grown, I am amazed and excited to see you...a mother who is connected to herself, happy and energetic who does good for herself and her children..it is very Exciting and happy ... well done to you I know how hard it can be sometimes, with all my love Sagit.

I have been binge watching your videos since seeing you on Chef AJ's show. I am so chuffed that we have a U.K. inspiration in the midst of all the U.S. youtubers and shops that I can go to. Learning lots from you. Almost at the end of a 30 day vegan challenge and have lost at least 10lbs so far. I have just purchased your 7 day potato reset meal plan and love that everything is so simple and not full of nuts (nut allergy) as is the case with a lot of plant based influencers. Also as a coeliac, I'm happy that I can eat practically everything in the plan, whoop whoop. Thank you so much. Keep up the goid work 😊

Ami, it made me smile when you said you also deserve to prioritize yourself, and that you deserve to have nice fruit, too! 🥰 I must admit, It has always made me feel sad when you couldn't also have a mango in addition to the kids having them, too. Super glad you'll also prioritize yourself now as well. There are enough mangoes in the world for everyone!🥭🥭🥭 And you definitely deserve it!🌟

I am 77, on no meds, walk 3 to 5 km a day and dance away the night on Saturdays! I used to be vegetarian, but fell to the side. Now plant based, needing to lose weight gained in Covid. I love fruit. Will it slow my weight loss on the starch solution? Born and bred a Brummie. Emigrated to Canada in 1967. It is a joy to see your little one shove that fruit in and enjoy it so much..as did our 4. Blessings from North Bay Ontario. Canada.

My youngest is a fruit freak! He looooves it. I use it only fruit to sweeten many of the recipes on my KZbin channel. My whole food plant based family of four has been thrived while eating loads of fruit for the past fourteen years.

Thank you for explaining that the fear of fruit is just diet culture propaganda. Do people have any idea how much sugar is in their Starbucks lattes and fraps? Or a spoonful of Ben & Jerry’s? 🙃 Yet they’re concerned about you eating a grape 🙉LOL. As you say, fruit is amazing for weight loss - calorically dilute, full of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, plus so hydrating (it’s why so much of it is in-season in the hot months!)!! I’ve been downing over a lb of watermelon/day lately and losing fat just like I’d expect while being in a consistent cal deficit.

I am the same here in Florida there is so much abundant fruit, ate a bunch of watermelon yesterday and today a ton of blueberries in my oatmeal and then had a whole mango, love, love fruit, it is what I crave when I want something sweet.

Ami, I’ve never understood why people say fruit is bad. It’s natural but then will eat processed food with added sugar. It’s crazy how much sugar is in food we buy. I bought some wholemeal bread I looked at the ingredients and noticed it had sugar. I don’t have bread often anymore but it’s still strange when you think you’re getting a healthier version but in fact it’s just as bad as contains sugar. I love ❤sourdough/fresh bread. Thanks for sharing hun as always. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤xxxxxxx

Just want to say thank you for the inspiration! Started watching your videos about a month ago and you have put me right back on course of eating Whole Foods. Had been a junk food vegan for 5 years , then about 2 years ago I started eating WFPB. Have some snags along the way but you make it so easy….love your energy and enthusiasm. Thanks also for the 7 day plans… bought all 3.

What a fun video! I so miss having littles to picnic with. You aren't much older than my grandchildren, so it's been a long time ago for me. I agree; cauliflower is magic. It makes the creamiest gravies and sauces. I like how you added mushrooms and whole cauliflower to your sauce. That would make it feel like a bulkier meal. I'm a volume eater. That crispy zucchini looks amazing. I'll give it a try. I saw you on Chef AJ the other day and have been watching your old videos as they pop up. I think you and your sweet family are adorable. Thank you.

I so appreciate all you do by giving us good recipes! Nevertheless, I have been completely plant-based for 4 years now, and I have maintained my weight for part of that time and gained weight recently after a hip replacement. I have joined and rejoined Weight Watchers several times over the course of that time and have been largely unsuccessful with that. I think the problem with it is that they have such a list of free foods. In truth, they aren't free - at least for me. A month or so ago I had a brief time with Noom. I had never counted calories in my life until then. I didn't continue with Noom but I actually got the Lose It it app to track my food. I know that goes against what you teach, but I've been the route of eating as much fruit and as much beans as I want and I cannot lose weight doing that. So with all that said, I have lost 7 lbs since June 23rd. I know it's a hassle to log food, and I hope I can get an eye for what a reasonable portion size for me is, so I don't have to do this forever. However I'm thankful that I'm doing it now.

I love watching all that you do but must admit I'm not a fruit person. Not because of the "sugar" but because I'm a savoury person not sweet, so fruit really doesn't appeal to me..I sometimes buy it but end up chucking it on the banking for the wildlife 🫤 Saying that though watching Romi chomp down on mango is awesome 🥭😁 your kiddos are great
