Aidan O'Connell is the future in my honest opinion. It amazes me, though, that people had unrealistic expectations for him to perform like a superstar right out of the gate. However, that logic is problematic. First off, he was a rookie playing for a dysfunctional and incompetent Head Coach in Josh McDaniels. Second, he didn't have adequate protection with his sorry O-line. And third, he had an inexperienced play caller in Bo Hardegree…and then sadly, they went to the failure that is Luke Getsy. And last but not least, hiring A.P. as the Head Coach has been a hot mess. I love the guy as a person, but he is too inexperienced, and the man runs his mouth too much: how is he going to go on a podcast and say that the Raiders have the recipe to beat the Chiefs, for example? Andy Reed and Bill Belichick always let their coaching do the talking. Moreover, I'm not saying that Aidan doesn't need competition at the QB position. Competition is always a good thing in any position. It's a must actually. What I'm saying is that Aidan O'Connell has the skill set to be successful in the NFL: he's intelligent; he works hard; he has a strong arm; and he protects the ball. He is not interception prone as other QB’s. Anyway, with the right Quarterbacks Coach and Offensive Coordinator-and I believe the Raiders have found him in Scott Turner-who knows how good Aidan can be in this league. The future looks bright for this young man. I've been saying this since his first year.

I think we just need a better O-line scheme and coach to really help that offense, because the identity that Getsy implemented from the beginning really set us back. There’s a reason Zeus had big games last year, and it’s evident it wasn’t due to his own skill. I like O’Connell, but truly we’ll need another QB, a decent RB, and better right or left guard. If we can bring a lot of our good players back, then add another WR2 and I think we’ll be a lot more competitive next year. Hoping we can keep Graham! Mixed on AP with a guy like Vrabel out there. Maybe the right OC, AP does better but I think AP made some bad mistakes throughout the year that I don’t know if we can afford to see in another year.
