Brock Edward Lesnar (/ˈlɛznər/ LEHZ-nur; born July 12, 1977) is an American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist, amateur wrestler, and professional American football player. He is currently signed to WWE where he is designated a "free agent", allowing him to appear on both the Raw and SmackDown brands. Often regarded as one of the most prolific athletes in the world, Lesnar is the only person to have won all of the primary heavyweight championships in WWE, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Lesnar competed in collegiate wrestling for the University of Minnesota, winning the NCAA Division I national championship in 2000. He soon signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, renamed WWE in 2002), rising to industry prominence in 2002 by winning the WWE Championship at age 25, setting the record for the youngest performer to win the championship. In 2004, Lesnar departed WWE to join the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL), but was cut from the team during pre-season. He returned to pro-wrestling and signed with NJPW in 2005 where he won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Years later in 2012, he re-signed with WWE; his 504-day first reign with the WWE Universal Championship is the seventh-longest world championship reign in the promotion's history and he holds the record for most reigns as Universal Champion at three. He also won the Royal Rumble match twice (2003 and 2022), the Money in the Bank ladder match (2019), the King of the Ring tournament (2002), and has headlined several pay-per-view events, including WWE's flagship event WrestleMania five times (XIX, 31, 34, 36, and 38), nine SummerSlams (2002, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022); in addition, he also ended The Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak in 2014.
Lesnar began an MMA career in 2007, and signed with the UFC in 2008. He quickly won the UFC Heavyweight Championship, but was sidelined with diverticulitis in 2009. On his return in 2010, Lesnar defeated Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Shane Carwin to unify the heavyweight championships and become the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion. After a couple of losses and further struggles with diverticulitis, Lesnar retired from MMA in 2011. He returned at UFC 200 in 2016 to defeat Mark Hunt, but his victory was overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for a banned substance on UFC's anti-doping policy. He then retired from MMA for the second time in 2017. A box office sensation, he competed in some of the bestselling pay-per-view events in promotion history, including headlining UFC 91, UFC 100, UFC 116, and UFC 121. He also co-headlined UFC 200, briefly being the main headliner before that spot was given to Amanda Nunes vs. Miesha Tate.

That point taken call in the OG Mir fight was so bullshit. He hit the back of the head because Mir moved as he was swinging which by the rules is legal. As long as you are aiming between the ears is legal or else people can just turn around and bait their head in a bad position to get free points

Disagree, Mir was scrambling there and he could've easily been there as he was changing positions and Lesnar just hammering away because he's a "tough guy".

Brock got hate at the time from hardcore fans, because he was coming from wrasslin. And while he was kind of gifted a TS for beating an out-of-prime Herring, he went on to prove that he deserved it by beating a number of top HWs. Still want to see the universe where he goes straight into MMA after college and gets comfortable striking/having strikes thrown at him. He would have a good shot at being one of the GOATs.

Agreed. I also would have loved to see a Lesnar who never suffered through diverticulitis. It can change you forever. My uncle had it and even years later dealt with weeks where he was in extreme pain. My mother also suffered from it and almost died. She had gastrointestinal issues for the remainder of her life. Lesnar has said on many occasions it stopped him from being able to train for weeks at a time. He was never truly able to get it all together post surgery. But, he left a permanent mark even with all these less than favorable conditions. A true freak of nature.

Anyone hear the rumors Brock will be back for 300? I'd heard it would be against Arlovski in a retirement fight. At first, I figured it was ridiculous, because Lesnar's just too old and Arlovski had a fight literally a week or two ago, but then I realized that Brock's been out of WWE for several months; Arlovski's on a skid and still commands like 300,000 a fight, which means the UFC probably is looking to cash him out; the break with USDA; the fact they're the same age; the fact they kept Arlovski with his contract, yet not Overeem who was higher ranked and provided more finishes (they always keep certain guys around who are just for special occasions like this); and the fact WWE and the UFC are now a union with the UFC being the dominant member of that union. I'm now content on trying to talk this thing into reality, because it'd be such a weird fight. Arlovski has been in the UFC since before the last time Lesnar returned, yet hasn't had a finish in 23 fights (aside from him being finished, of course...also, yeah, his last 10 wins went to a decision and that's a record for consecutive victories without a finish...and it's at HW - of all weight classes - from a guy who does nothing but kickbox and used to be a ko artist!). I think him being so little of a threat to cave Lesnar's skull in, since Lesnar is like 45, would make him the perfect cantidate for a guy with 1 fight in the last 10+ years, in addition to the fact they're both older UFC legends who held the HW title. It would be a crazy move to make, but putting Belal vs Leon on the 300 supercard and the announcement of Mcgregor vs Chandler at 185 as the main event of 302 gives me hope they might do it.
