Distin and Justin lost to Charles because they were so scared of his BJJ. Arman and Islam were both willing to engage his grappling and look what happened. With Dustin in particular he got finished standing up I believe because when he did have Charles on the ground the round before he chose to just stay safe instead of engage. And as soon as next round started Charles closed the distance for the backpack standup RNC cuz he didn't feel threatened.

Not really, if a fighter is on different level, it is not HOW MANY he beat, rather it is WHO did he beat. He beat Volk twice, and who was VOLK? What was his stats? So yeah don't forget that. And then Charles, he wasn't some street kid whom he fought, he had great winning streak and he beat big names in the division (DP, JG, Tony, Chandler, etc). And lets not forget how he finished the rest (D.Hooker B.Green... etc). It is useless to mention this when we have mentioned abt Volk & charles. He is being counted out rightfully so, the circumstances due to ufc 300 needing 3 top LW contenders (Arman, Oliveira, Gaethje) fighting at the same time is the main reason why Poirier getting his 3rd title shot (and also Poirier is a big name that can sell fights), Poirier didn't earn this 3rd title shot just like Colby didn't earn his. Still if anyone has a punchers chance thats Poirier who is arguably the best boxer in the Lightweight division, perhaps best boxer in ufc p4p.

Dustin is not smart for Taking this fight. Arman got the fight offered and he was smart enough to decline. The hardest part is not the fight itself,but the training and weigh cut. Dustin should know this already, off course he is probably thinking that had he declined to fight,then he would not get another shot. I'm proud to say that i've always been a huge fan of Poirier. Like a true warrior, he always brings it whenever he steps into the octagon. He will be the underdog, as expected, in this upcoming championship fight. However, anything is possible inside the cage and it would be rather foolish for anyone, including Machachev, to underestimate his chances of winning. Destiny will never be denied. Whatever is meant to be, will be, and there's absolutely nothing that can prevent it from happening. It would be well worth remembering what happened in the Usman Vs Edward clash not too long ago. Edwards landed his hail mary kick to Usman's head and knocked him out cold a minute before the end of the fight that he was clearly losing! Dustin is a great role model and a wonderful family man who is involved in several charities. Nobody deserves the title more than he does. I believe that it's a realistic possibility for the Diamond to win via KO or guillotine. That would be one of the greatest storybook endings ever in the history of sports!
