Ok, so I am half way through this vid and I had to stop to input this comment... Thankyou SO much for filming this dyno tune and having Brock explain what and why he's doing. Awesome sharing of information which is what every red blooded motorcyclist needs! So, if the bike is tuned and Brock said "Its for emissions and noise control" which is why the blades respond to the throttle, wouldn't that mean that tuning it would make it not pass a test?. I said this on the patreon page, but this video is extremely interesting to see the process of how to tune a bike. I'm glad to be able to learn with you as well. Thanks again IB
@BrockDavidson7 жыл бұрын
I Accept Visa - if you live in an area where the bike is required to pass a yearly emission inspection, or, if you live in California - the bike will no longer pass if you run a full exhaust (no cat), ECU mods, or both.
@brokendevildoggsp94307 жыл бұрын
Im not positive, but i thought that ib said they were making it a track bike. So emissions prob arent a concern. You could always have it tuned again when you make it street legal again. Even the Brocks exaust is track only.
@husky701rider97 жыл бұрын
I Accept Visa. At least in the car world anytime an ecu is flashed it won’t pass. In my area anyway. So my tuner gave me two maps one that will pass and one that makes power.

What headlights are you using? I️ can’t find anything that white.
@Niobium237 жыл бұрын
Brock is incorrect in his explanation of the pcV mapping interface, the pcv reads throttle position off of you actual throttle position sensor, not the etv (electronic throttle values). This info can be verified with a simple check of the bmw service manual and/or by speaking with Chris from dynojet. Flashing the etv map to 100% of requested throttle position and then checking afr would be a better approach, and the tech to flash the ecu direct is available from flashtune for the 2017’s. Uses the DNS port.
@erik31315 жыл бұрын
@brockdavidson With the brentuning stage 1 flash would you be able to map the bike in the 100% column? .Or does the bike need the stage 2 hp unlock or alpha n?I would like to purchase one of your maps but want to get the right flash to unlock its potential

@gixxerbo17 жыл бұрын
+ Mateeryal Mateeryal That's a bit high. A dyno is only a tuning tool and not a comparison tool unless both bikes which you would like to compare are both there. An S1000rr may have read 200+ on that dyno. Each dyno is different. Also, type of tire, tire weight, tire pressure, tire size, strap down pressure, temperature, humidity, chain and sprockets, etc all make a massive difference on the dyno. So to throw out a number on one bike is meaningless.
@mateeryalironperformance23957 жыл бұрын
Dude, yes you are right, every dyno is different. But I am talking about brocks dyno already. The brocks posted 198 horsepower with its own exhaust and power commander on the internet site. The 1000RR gen5 can not be as strong as zx10r.

That's cool he lets this process be seen. Love learning how this is done and struggles oem had to build in. Race ecu or flash eliminates this issue of 100% really equals 100% throttle? Why didn't you do a flash for this bike?
@jhenry9377 жыл бұрын
Nik Scott there isn’t a flash available yet
@rmonified7 жыл бұрын
8:50 so he's tuning for the maximum power at 85% throttle because full throttle is only actually giving 85% so hopefully this will be more optimal for the bike? That was how I interpreted it.
@Spartanshaq7775 жыл бұрын
Armoni Visuals hes tuning AT 85% for a 100% tune, cuz it would be like teaching a baby to run when it can barely crawl, so in order for a baby to run, hes basically teaching the baby to crawl and then walking and then running, hopefully that makes sense

Cr500 Kev is the bmw race calibration kit going to be able to adjust ignition timing and give full throttle blade control to give 100 percent throttle blade open when giving 100 percent throttle vs the percentage closed the throttle blades are when stock? Also is the bmw calibration kit going to be able to adjust ignition dwell times, and rpm extension capability and also early fan activation to keep the temperature down vs stock? And whats the cost if the bmw kit

1. Was 2010 a golden year for the BMW? 2. What is significant about that year for BMW about that particular RR?
@BrockDavidson7 жыл бұрын
Enrique Garcia Jr - in 2010-2014, the bikes didn't have to pass as strict emissions testing from the factory. In 2015-16 it got worse and 2017 the tests are far more stringent than ever. The fact that this bike can make so much power is a tribute to BMW engineers.
