On point about literbike power on street! I think that bike might have mods that changed the ergo and stiffness. Comparing 2018 to 2020, I find the 18 (with dynamic suspension) more comfortable.

Heyy, what do you think about the reliability aspect of the 2014 model year when it comes to the engine.? I saw one up here locally for sale here in India with just 500 miles on the clock, low mileage is because it’s owned by a big time celebrity here, only thing holding me back is the various engine blow up cases on forums online, what’s your take on this?

I own a 2013 BMW S1000RR and I absolutely love the bike. But… you were going nuts over the sound and it sounds good but it’s nothing special. The next gen sounds better and deeper. I used to have a 2012 Triumph Daytona and that thing sounds incredible! The S1K is my dream bike but I miss the Triumph triple sound 🥺

way to much power but it’s my dream bike and it’s what I’m going for next year... my choices were 17-20 r6 or 15-18 bmw s1000rr .. after riding my buddies 16 s1krr for the first time, it sealed the deal for me. Things a absolute rocket on two wheels .. I’ve ridden a gsxr 1000, a 16 R1M and neither of them come close to the feel of a Bmw s1000rr... Plus the cruise control is AWESOME. I keep saying I should of never borrowed my buddies S1k for that week because now I’m spoiled... good review 🤙

As I see you riding it... enough power. But the full potential can only be used on the track. In my opinion. for street use... a Disiplined rider is needed.

GertJan Weststrate same can be said about any sport bike, realistically you cant use the “full potential” of any sport bike on the public roads. Even a 250/300cc as they’re literally made for taking corners at high speed which you shouldn’t be doing on public streets anyways, even a disciplined rider gets tempted .. it’s hard not to when you’re sitting on a 200hp rocket haha

@@MADLITS1K I concur. I have one of the last gen 3 s1000rr models (December 2018) and it really is that good. I have only managed to rev it to 13500 rpm and it can still rev to 16000 rpm easily. It is comfortable at both slow and warp speed :-)

Wow so no more v4r huh? :) once i am ready to upgrade from ninja400, this 2018 s1000rr is on my short list for track. For street its overkill just like even an r6. I would argue you hit same speeds on the rr as the r6 in the video, minus the feel of the rr. Maybe even quicker on the r6. Track is where these bikes belong. If you had a r3 or ninja400, you would prob have just as much fun on those same roads.

Probably the only euro superbike id actually buy. Reliablility wise it seems better than the Duc or the Ape. It’s got all the right stuff as far as I’m concerned. But like everything, electronic throttle= 🤢

That’s not a raw bike 😂 It gave birth to all the rider aids. Try a 1998 R1 for rawness.

Yes it’s more raw but that 25 year old R1 only has 148hp (when new) and this S1K had 190 to the wheel (around 210hp) and it needs rider aids to keep it from killing you.
