I got a huge smile when I saw this video pop on on my recommended. Jones's development this season has been really fun to watch! The way we ran the ball this past game was really good to see. Thanks Alex

Broderick Jones looks like a veteran the way he is able to move the defensive player towards the outside and he seems to do it effortlessly.

Broderick looks really promising. The sky is the limit for him.

I don’t think we missed on a single rookie this year. Darnell Washington has been elite in the blocking category and he laid a dominant block on Warren’s TD. Looks good when it comes together

I'm a firm believer that one or better 2 key player on the O line can really create a change in culture in the O line. Meaning one guy can make others better.. It's why guys like ramone foster and Big Al was able to come in and step up and become quality starters when they were once undrafted guys or late round picks. Hopefully Broderick Jones can be the start of a new era!
@kdub5606 ай бұрын
His athleticism for being so damn big is incredible. It’s hilarious how fast that big foot accelerates to the other side of the line.😂 I love it. We never had a tackle that could pull, it was always the guards and centers that pulled.
@zachg53566 ай бұрын
Big AL used to pull, but Broderick looks much faster than AL ever did.
@kdub5606 ай бұрын
@@zachg5356 Yeah he probably did, I just always noticed Pouncy and Decastro, because they were so good at it. I should of said “we never had a tackle pull like that”.

Jones makes a huge difference in the running game. I'd like to see them throw more on second and medium to short yardage.
@ae61126 ай бұрын
Broderick has been HUGE for the run game... since he's started back to back positive impact on the run game. We need to upgrade Center via the draft or Free Agency, and the offense looks much better.
@ronsmith77496 ай бұрын
I think Jone's play is allowing the rest of the line to play better. Jones does so well, that it takes pressure off Daniels (right guard), and that allows Mason Cole to focus on his blocks, rather than worrying about trying to help Daniels....
@blakewillie63316 ай бұрын
Agreed they were spamming running to his side in the beginning of the game
@MrABS3696 ай бұрын
Also note Jones' professionalism with respect to his teammates. Helping Najee up on that 2nd example you showed of him in the video. Being energetic and generally excited and happy for the success of his teammates. Those things aren't taught, you either are that type of person or not. But it's also not a requirement, so fans especially need to stop expecting all players to do and act a certain way. It's great when you can identify these types of players because their value is intangible. Najee is that type of player as well.
@Alex_Kozora6 ай бұрын
Oh yeah. Solid solid teammate.
@kedst20006 ай бұрын
While watching the game I thought Jones got an early start on the first clip even though he was not called for it. It looks like he timed it perfectly maybe. The thing about that play though was how quickly he covered the ground is crazy. He covered the ground you usually see the guard cover and finished the play by taking his assignment out of the play.

Jones has always been an elite athlete. Good to see him fill out more so his impact at point of attack is greater on run plays. As far as pass blocking goes he was always elite since high school.

@steelermike52196 ай бұрын
Broderick is a beast and he’s still so young! Wouldn’t surprise me at all if khan didn’t make any moves at deadline saving picks for draft and do something crazy move way up in the draft and take a QB. Let him sit behind Kenny for a year and then have Kenny for a backup like instead of Mitch or Rudolph… Don’t know why I just thought of that lol

Agree that Jones is looking like he has a bright future, but it seems like Mason Cole’s improvement the last two weeks has been what’s made such a difference. The guy was getting blown up the first 7 games to the point where he was the worst Oline man in the league. His last two games have been a major improvement. Just got to hope it continues and that whole team continues to improve.

Broderick jones, JPJ, keanu benton, darnell washington, nick herbig. What an absolute stud of a draft class to kick off omar khan and andy weidl’s tenure. I can’t remember the last draft class the steelers had that was this good top to bottom. They can probably take a serious look at trading chuks in the offseason and probably get a 3rd or 2nd for him. If they can repeat the draft success and get an ILB, center, a slot WR and some DL depth, and add a quality #2 corner in free agency, this could turn into one of the better rosters in the nfl pretty fast. Then give the keys back to kenny one more year under a better OC with all that talent around him and let him sink or swim, maybe with a new vet not named trubisky behind him just in case. That would be my dream scenario and all the stars would align with perfect timing at the end of kenny’s 3rd year to make decisions both on kenny as a starter and whether or not to pick up najee’s 5th year option. That way if it becomes obvious kenny isn’t the answer next season, they can pick another QB in the following draft with a complete team already in place around him ready to win, instead of inheriting a rebuild like kenny did. An already complete roster would allow them to trade up for a QB if necessary also. That would be my plan if im omar khan because as much as everybody wants to slam the door on kenny after this season, I don’t think this roster is “just a QB away” yet and theres still too many holes to fill to trade away all your draft capital to get in position for another QB this year when your current QB is still winning games.

Tomlin admitted Dan Moore is a lot better at Left Tackle than Right Tackle so it's best to keep him Left Tackle for this season. While Broderick is excellent at both and Okorafor was definitely the worst player on the Line so he deserves to be the one on the bench for Broderick.

This is good news for Pittsburgh. All I know is that the guy who Broderick Jones intends to block on any given play doesn't make the tackle. In some cases he is in another zip code.

Love it Alex. So if we draft high for a center would rebuild be close to complete for Oline?
@alexm28896 ай бұрын
he looks great. what do you think about this: The offense is working now only because jones is making the difference in the run game. Canada still isn't using the middle of the field or play action. Tomlin put Jones in many weeks too late, getting kenny (thankfully just a little) hurt and holding back the run game for way too long. Everyone seems to have forgotten the real reasons why this team is just squeaking by inferior opponents and not reaching their potential. Glad we're winning though!
@bordy2176 ай бұрын
Because they have a young inexperienced offense with a young, inexperienced QB with average physical attributes.

Just noticed something. On the play at the 8:00 mark why does Pickens continue to ran the sideline. He had time to go back to the middle and pick up a block that would have freed Naje for more possibly a td.

Trying out to be a good draft for steelers with these picks. Pickens has real talent and finding Warren has been great for the steelers

I'd be interested in some breakdown of Dan Moore Jr and maybe even Chuks to get an idea of our tackles moving forward. Broderick being a high draft pick and athletic freak it makes more sense for him to be on the left, but how do the other guys fit in then. Do you try flipping Moore and Jones in the off-season? What even happened with Chuks anyway? I heard he got disciplined for saying something he shouldnt have?? Or was he just under-performing?
