JF had an impressive game yesterday.... a 2nd TD pass was called back on a bad call... he had an out of this world 51 yard pass (maybe the best pass of the year) called back on a holding call while Fields was already out of the pocket.... and 2 other accurate deep sideline throws that were called for pass interference -- so Pitt got the yards but it they were not credited to the QB. ........... JF easily had at least 225/250 air yards plus 2 TD's on the day taken away from him..... he consistently beat the blitz.... he still had a very good QBR..... and most importantly, he got the Dub.

Hard to give the QB credited yards on the PI simply because that call is made nearly every game… do give him credit for the TD and the 51 yarder to GP called back for holding. It’s an efficient outing but still a modest sub 200 yard game… The real issue is why are they playing so conservatively-because they don’t have the confidence in JF to not make the mistake? Was that AS’s decision or MT’s?
@legallinebacker11Ай бұрын
@@mike2687 That throw for 51 yards and those 2 accurate deep balls that were called for PI's show they have confidence. Its the play calling and the style the OC wants to play. Russell Wilson is and should be QB1. I agree with you on Broderick I think it's definitely kind of crazy how he couldn't get comfortable at left or right in the off-season got hurt trying to overwork. And I think they overworked Russell Wilson with the block sledding drill but he seem alright now. So with that calf muscle I don't know the awareness of that to say how twitchy he can be at this moment. But what I can say is a regular Russell Wilson versus Jonathan Cooper in that situation would make cooper look silly. Remember this is the same Russell Wilson that when he was on the broncos versus the 49ers did an epic spin on bosa who tried to charge at him the same way. And threw a touchdown. The difference in Russell when he's healthy if you give him the freedom to make big plays he usually makes 90% of them and they result in touchdowns. He just can't live there playing that kind of way and that's where the structure of Mike Tomlin comes in with the running game. Those are perfect balance where when you got Justin the only thing y'all are saying is he's not making turnovers. That's not a highlight of a great quarterback.fields had 17 passing yards in the second half cmon

As a coach, you’re managing (1) practice, (2) games, and (3) the season simultaneously. You do what is necessary to prepare for the game in front of you. You ALSO prepare for contingencies that are LIKELY later in the season. It is LIKELY that one of the starting tackles MAY miss one or more games this season. Of the 3 starting-capable tackles, Broderick Jones is MOST CAPABLE of playing either left or right tackle. Therefore, it ONLY makes sense to develop Broderick Jones as the swing tackle for 2024-2025 season. You can’t be responsible and just put him in at Left tackle and keep him there. Fautanu is too new to the league and Dan Moore, Jr. Is not confidential or competent at Right tackle. The Coaching staff is doing the only responsible thing - even if Broderick Jones is uncomfortable this season as swing tackle, he’s the best candidate to prepare for the likelihood of injury.
