Took me a few days to watch it and I'm shocked how many people agree with Brodie's take. It's not alright to call for somebody to kill themselves in a tweet and it's okay to point that out. Blocking that account is not the solution, that stuff is still out there for other people to see. I'd much rather have a clean sport for kind people than a fake drama driven action vehicle. Of course a car wreck draws more eyes, I still prefere it when there hasn't been an accident. I see discgolf as a way better sport than hockey or football or soccer BECAUSE there is less violence and so-called drama. And to call this gate-keeping is actually dangerous because it enables bad actors and will keep decent folk from speaking out against hate and violence.

Most people on these foundation shows except Brodie literally base their whole opinion on a player on what they’ve done the last few weeks. I noticed it last year on how quick Hunter and Trevor started questioning Calvin’s ability to win and it’s actually insane

@@mrtony1985 of course, no one would disagree with that and that definitely should be a topic. My problem is with the foundation boys insane recency bias. The drastic difference in how they talked about Calvin 5-6 weeks after his last win last year just made me realize how their takes are formed. A month ago it was “I cannot see mcbeth or pierce ever being in serious contention again” A month ago it was “AB is the next dominating force in disc golf” and they’ve already switched on that completely. This year tattar won the Waco cup and it was “this year is gonna be more dominating than last year” and then ohn wins the next event and it’s “wow the gap has closed greatly this year”. It’s just lazy commentary

Having met Paige in person, she is a great ambassador for the sport and goes out of her way to give autographs and spends a lot of time talking to fans. That being said, I definitely disagree with her take on Brodie and the podcast. Paul, Drew, Paige and others seem to have a clique that's anti-Brodie and can't handle fair criticisms. on the Drama topic. FPO Dynamics Disc Open final playoff. On the Jomez coverage they edited out the foot fault drama where Hailey King tries to call a foot fault on Missy Gannon but it is not seconded. That is drama that is happening on the course which is good for the sport so why edit it out? That is just a bad look for post production coverage as well when important parts of the game are not included which shows an incomplete product and removes some on the course drama.

Mii Hunter is better than regular Hunter. Always love seeing Michelle on, we need more female opinions besides Brodie. Without GOAT Gary on it is anyone's week this week. @Brodie - I agree 100% with the throwing it to Nate or Brian. I think the product everyone would love to strive for is the NFL or CFB, so if we compare it to that, you never see them throw to the sidelines person when they aren't ready for it. They get them in position, then get their take. DGPT needs one person on chase and another person on lead, so that way you don't throw to nate when he is in the porta-john or walking in between holes. You have Brian and Nate out there, and if someone is playing hot then you get him in position to interview them. Otherwise you keep them on lead and chase so they can give you perspective.

I already pay for too many streaming subscriptions and don’t want to spend more just for Disc Golf. I would watch if I didn’t have to pay. I would maybe pay if I could watch my favorite players, not just the lead card. As it is it’s a waste of money, I’ll follow the scores on the PDGA app then watch the highlights when it’s over.

So much ignorance and misinformation on PDGA Player of the Year. PDGA Player of the Year is a mathematical formula. The current standings are published every week on Wednesday. Ohn is currently the FPO front runner. Kristin is 3rd. Unlike rankings and ratings, if you don't play, people start passing you. Gannon is dominating on the MPO side. You don't have to get wins to get points, but 1st gets more than 2nd, and 2nd gets more than third, etc. Points go down to 10th place for Majors and Elite Series, and down to 3rd place for A-tiers. Elite Series at the beginning of the year count as much as Elite Series at the end of the year. USDGC counts for more because it is a major, but it counts the same as the other majors, like Worlds, European Open and Champions Cup. Throw Pink counts for very little, because it is an A-tier. There is no end-of-year bonus. If it is very close at the end of the year, a knowledgeable contender could win it by playing A-tiers in Florida, Mississippi and Australia for a few extra points in November and December. This week, none of the top Americans are playing the DGPT. If Eveliina wins, she will rocket up to 2nd and Kristin goes down to 4th. Niklas could help his position a lot with a win too, moving from 4th to 2nd.

It's not at all unreasonable or even negative to discuss a player who blows a shot they routinely make, or who's career may have become a roller coaster...... I am actually looking forward to seeing the sport continue to grow and see how some of the players who do really questionable things in their personal life or act like a brat get called out for it. As for Paige's recent slam on Tour Life, I love Page Pierce, but she comes across very childish at times.

The drama DRAWS people in.... as a new disc golf fan when the Nicco Locastro drama happened at the European open, I was all in, reading on reddit to get more incite and trying to find out as much as I could... drama creates story lines, gets eyes on the sport, and peaks interest

Brodie sells way more discs than he should because he is a personality. I’ve been saying this for awhile now but if you want to sell discs you gotta get out there, be an interesting person on camera and make people want to root for you. There’s not a ton of money in disc golf to go around you gotta hustle. Discraft and Simon/eagle do a great job of it and they sell a ton of discs.

You can’t afford to have a mediocre round and still win. Does AB basically just give up if he doesn’t have a monster first round?

6:52 IMO we still can't place too much value on Majors/Elites because they're not necessarily that much tougher. Yes they are more likely to have ALL the top players so the field is expected to be stronger, but that's the only thing that really makes a difference.

Discmania cost more MVP, Innova, Discraft. Lower the cost, the disc will move.

In the six years I’ve gotten heavily into disc golf, I’ve had the hardest time understanding the Discmaina line up of what discs are OS, Stable and Understable and which named discs are what kind of disc- for whatever reason.

I literally don't even touch their discs anymore. Their flight numbers are so different than other brands. Their disc names are mega confusing. F that company

I tried some of the s & c line FD discs out recently because I wanted a good slightly overstable 7 speed and they are not their turn or fade numbers whatsoever.

@@mrtony1985I just tried the method (5-5-0-3) and mutant (5-3-0-4). The method flew like a beat in Buzzz. Straight flyer. The mutant flew like a slow tilt. I know they spend a ton on their pro team. I don't see it correlate to disc sales

I used to love discmania. But now that the originals basically aren’t available I couldn’t care less anymore. Glad I got enough fds and cd2s to last me for life! Probably eventually will check out some mvp.

Ok these questions about the goat, player of the year week after week have to stop! It gets tiresome if it comes back to much and way to early in the season! Please listen to Brodie on the drama question and social media.Oh and not all people are gifted or cut out to be content makers. You can learn up to a certain point but just like with other things in life. Some people are just made to do certain things better then others! For whatever reasons!

My big problem with these guys talking about PDGA Player of the Year is that none of them have a clue how the award is determined. I made a long post about it somewhere else in this thread.

Extremes in social media are going to happen. As long as people are not threating others its fair game. If it bothers you don't get off. I've all but gotten off social media and only look at FB from time to time and rarely interact. X is toxic, I'd called it "toxic Twitter." It's were to go to see the extremes and inbetweens of drama. Telling someone they suck and ugly etc is fine. I've been watching disc golf for about 8 years and only started playing last year. For about a year or two I stopped watching and last year bought an Innova starter pack because I knew of Paul McBeth. Didn't even know he move to Discraft. I bought Brodie's starter pack because I liked his videos and like him. But I'd also like to try other brands becuase of the Simons, and Gannons and Rickys of the disc golf world. This was good debate. Keep it up!

I’ll answer about Discmania. I couldn’t even tell you what molds they have (I’ve been playing 1.5 years). I know Innova because they are everywhere. I know MVP because of Simon. I know Discraft because the first disc I bought that wasn’t in a starter pack was a buzzzz. I have MVP, Discraft and Innova in my bag now. There are a few other molds in my bag that I could tell you the name of but not the mfg. The ONLY pro that influences what I buy is Simon.

I really appreciate how Brodie uses concrete examples and concrete analogies to drive his points home. Speaking only in abstracts makes it difficult to understand exactly what someone is trying to say or allude to.

ABs final round in Portland was the rainy round, I think. The story was that he hates playing in the rain and his bag got soaked on the first hole, iirc. Something about ine of the cpvers dumping water sirectly into his bag, at the fault of his caddy. Don't know if i am misremembering it. Not to mention I don't think he's ever played well there, maybe even hasn't gotten a top 10 finish there ever? Edit: I see now that Brodie remembered it further into the show.
