Dan Cambell is the epitome of positive masculinity

what the fuck does that even mean

@@minimusmaxVurtues associated with masculinity. Stuff like integrity, brotherhood, grit. Not just "be a man" but "be a good man."
@user-tx7rr7xe4m Жыл бұрын
@@minimusmax A man with positive masculinity embodies everything that the stereotypical “masculine man” does. In Dan’s case, he is a big, strong, intelligent, and a charismatic leader whose very being demands respect. Yet at the same time, he is completely unafraid to be his authentic self despite what anyone else has to say. He is not afraid to show emotion and cry publicly. He calls himself out. He holds himself to the highest standard and takes the failure of those under him as his own. When he does succeed, he will not praise himself, but will continually shine the light on others. For example, this week of the NFC championship where he could be talking about how HE turned a perpetual loser into a Super Bowl contender, he spent about five minutes raving about the Lions’ equipment manager. He raves about the fans, the Lions’ owner, his coaches and players, but never himself. A man who embodies toxic masculinity may carry many of the same qualities that Dan does. He is oftentimes big, strong, loud, outwardly successful, etc...but a “toxic” man does not cry, because men don’t cry. He does not get overly excited, because men are stoic and “unemotional.” A toxic man is the reason for everyone’s success because he is THE MAN. If he wins, he takes all the credit. If he fails, it’s never his fault, even as the “leader.” If society says that men must be physically imposing, stoic, loud and proud, he does so, because he cares what others think. He will never show vulnerability or weakness, because men are not allowed to be weak. He is often a self proclaimed “alpha male,” who deep down is extremely insecure and wants the praises of his fellow man to feel value. Toxic men want to present themselves as these larger than life heros and gods, completely losing their humanity in the process. But Dan represents everything a man just SHOULD be because it’s right and properly human, not what our society SAYS a man should be.

He started liking them because of Bobby Lane back in the day so just like other kids and their fathers I became alliance fan and it’s bittersweet because Every time I see the Lions do well or every time Dan Campbell impresses me. I absolutely love it but I’m a little heartbroken because when I tell people that my father would’ve absolutely loved Dan wish he was here to witness this. I know he’s up there watching, but I wish I was next to him witnessing this, it’s almost out of body experience when your team has been suffering for as long as the lions have the only thing I would compare them to possibly would be the Jets.
