Fantastic video. Hey Brody, I am 42 and started playing with the rubik's cube a month or so ago as I was suffering finger arthritis and the exercise seems to help. My personal best is (wait for it!!....) about 69 seconds! :-) But it's fine, i'm really having a great time, my hands don't hurt as much and i've discovered a new hobby. Plus, all my kids LOVE the rubik's cube as well now. Thanks for the great content!

Nah, I just went rechecking my PLL, and 30% of them were horrible pieces of shit I learned in 2009. I just went and re-learned them. By just finding best algorithms and drilling them into your muscle memory - you can improve by a bunch, now I am sub 20 :D

only 3 minutes in and very good advice. this is how i learned to play guitar. I'd record myself, watch where I was fucking up, then take action on my weak points. I'm doing the same thing now as I'm learning cubing. Ever since I switched from beginner method to CFOP, I became really slow at just building the cross. So what I do the majority of the time I practice now? A lot of the time I'm not even twisting, I'm just scrambling and then looking at the cube and turning in my head to get a grip of how that works. Most the time these past weeks are as basic as scrambling, mentally visualizing how the turns will effect the cube, and if I'm really unsure, turning and turning back to see it. I probably have not even been fully solving the cube most of the time, but just rescrambling for a new cross to build. My F2L is better than the cross, so unless I can nail a few good crosses, there's no need to devote my time to what I can do somewhat better. It's maybe a boring way of practicing things, but it's the only way you fix those sore points. Very good advice you give! It's about evaluating (recording), identifying (studying), and acting upon (performing some ritual that challenges your weakness). And of course: repeating.

I average in the 11 seconds and I know that F2L is my main weakness . I take like : 1/1.5 seconds for cross And finish oll + f2l at 10/10.5 seconds And pll is 1.5 seconds. My main problem is lookahead in F2L and that can be solved by better cross to f2l transition . I also need to do solves to eliminate the pauses in the middle . By the way if all my pauses are eliminated I save about 1.5 seconds. Thanks a lot Brody.
