This song and lyrics hit at home with me. Having struggled with depression for a few years and overcame the obstacles it comes with, (and without any meds, I refused and believed I could do it without them and I did) I will listen to this song whenever I start to feel low. The fact of sleeping it away was a reality with myself. Instead of facing things I would resort to sleeping and constantly fought the thoughts I would have. I in fact would have thoughts to just end everything because it seemed easier and my burdens would be lifted from myself and those around me. That's the twisted way depression can make you justify such a crazy act. But even though I had those thoughts I KNEW there was a better way and life was and is worth living. Constantly reminding myself how great I have things and being grateful for all of them kept me on track to getting out of the hole, along with working out and always doing something to keep my mind busy. Now with all that said I do still hit the low spots from time to time but I do the things that helped me get away from depression to get back up and keep fighting. It's a different battle for everyone and others have one way that will help them and a different way to help other people. If you feel low and depressed just know you are not alone and there are many people there for you. You will win the battle, keep your mind strong and love what life brings.
