Nate, had the same issue with the coupler on the trans cooler . it is most likely the stupid O-ring there . I cut off the rubber hose at the other end an used a new hose with hose clamps
@TheForthElement3 жыл бұрын
Nate, I do realise that where your from, its generally pretty cool, but I swapped out my trans cooler - and added an engine oil cooler - for aftermarket Derale -8 coolers with Derale thermostats. The A/C fan on the front of a disco2 will come on if its hotter than 26 Degree C and your moving slower then 80kmph, so I mounted them both behind that fan *had to move the fan forward*. It generally varies from 5Deg to 43Deg C here though. Ive only had a 30Deg day since I put them in and I've only seen the engine oil temp get up to 75Deg. I say try fill her up with oil again and see if she goes! worst case, new/rebuild trans and you could get one from Ashcrofts pretty cheap! Love the disco !
@consaka13 жыл бұрын
Oh I should have been there. Ever since I blew an engine oil cooler line and pulled into the campsite with no oil pressure. Left a path of oil all the way to our campsite. EMBARRASSING!!!!!!!!!! I patched it together with vinyl water line. That went about as well as you would expect when the oil got hot. Eventually found a Napa auto parts store and bought every bit of any hose I thought would work. Bought a lot of oil. Spent the night around the campfire rebuilding the hose section of the line. Who would have thought GM would make that a fixable item. Got that one fixed and drove up and down the Oregon coast and the next night the other one was leaking so I did it all over again for the other hose. To be fair though those hoses were put on in 1983 and had 260,000 miles on them. Yeah for old 1983 Chevy diesel vans.
