Just for a bit of background, I really was abit of a bum at this point out of choice, and I mean this in a respectful more kerouac style, I lived on about $720 a month which 15 years ago went a long way. Actually these were some of the best times of my life, which goes to show happiness and money dont always go together. Great to see a bit of Kanchanaburi. I agree Ryan, it is underrated. I actually think it's one of the most beautiful natural areas of Thailand.

Loved seeing this vlog spent a year in kan over the last 2yrs great quiet place with friendly locals. The first dispensary you showed the vlog (lowland) are actually Phuket cup winners and have a lot of influence in the underground scene in kanchanaburi I’m surprised to see it is for rent. Love seeing the content you post Ryan please keep it up :)

My wife's father worked in the government forest service as an ecological. 11 years ago, we stayed at the forest service office on many weekends. It is very chill and affordable and away from a bit of chaos.

Another lovely story, I’m happy your fairytale romance worked out, Too much weed shops! Weed culture is just not a good thing, it was better when you just got some from the villagers and the smoke wasn’t everywhere

Isn't it great to look back on your memories by visiting the old haunts. Before I left UK I visited all the houses that I had ever lived in from Childhood to the first house I ever owned. None of them had changed much and I was able to explain some mysteries t the current owners in two of the houses. Interesting for Otis too although he will probably remember the hotel with a pool more. Great location right on the river and very cheap to, which is what I always try to find 650 baht a night is very reasonable. I think that we might well take a trip down that way early next year. Thanks for sharing Ryan, God bless you and keep you both safe as you travel around. 😀❤🙏

thank u I stayed at the Sugar Cane you walked past it was like 20 years ago. stayed on there river raft rooms on the river. I think it was like 4 pounds a night or something. there was a veranda that you sat on surrounded by lotus flowers was so pretty. I remember the party boats going up and down. was beautiful place and never forget it. they also had food stalls at night you could eat but Sugar cane had really nice food. was a lovely burmese I think they said they were from Burma family that owned it. They made you feel at home with there little children running around. hope u enjoyed it.

Wow. I stayed at Noble house and had lunch at the Frog 🐸 place in April. 3 nights. ANZAC DAY. Loved it. Only One thing was the water in the pool gave my kids and I a itchy rash unfortunately. Breakfast was included at another nearby hotel. Fantastic location in Kanchanaburi.

Driving yourself either by car or motorbike is the easiest way to get around Kanchanaburi town. Tourists for me who don't have vehicles in town can get a lift on orange and yellow songthaews (covered pickup trucks) anytime from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and motorbike taxis and tuk tuks also are available. Makes me explore more around Kanchanaburi to understand more about the history and the updating but the most I liked is the original local history before upgrading with my dad.

My favorite place in Thailand. Spent many a long week end up there from the madness of Pats. Mate (RIP) had Ting Tong Tony bar and a few other mates had bars. All changed. Nam, his ex, still owns Ting Tong Bar oposite Knoble House. Miss it big time. My best experience was ANZAC day. Bet I know a few of your teacher mates. Will be back soon!
