It's pronounced "FLAN-jer", as in a reel to reel deck with flanges on the reels. The name came from how they created a flange effect before the time of stomp pedals.

This was my first Joyo pedal and I use it all the time. Turn the regen all the way down, the delay time around 11, and adjust width and speed to taste and I jam on The Police for days

One brand that has started to fill my pedalboard is NUX. Very cheap yet very good sounding pedals. From them I have bought NUX DS-3 distortion, NUX OD-3 overdrive and NUX Time force multi delay pedal with a built in looper. They are down right awesome pedals!

They’re killing the game right now. I have the Atlantic reverb/ delay, Time force on a fly rig board, the Cerberus on my main board, the Horseman mini drive pedal 4 boost on another board… NUX yes and Flamma as well, doing great things 🤘🏾

Weird, I've always associated the Hawker Siddley Harrier Jump Jet with a Flange sound and now my dream is a reality! It must be something to do with the Whittle designed engines!? ;)

The Joyo pedals I have are top-notch... except this one that was dead on arrival (working on a replacement with the seller). Us Dream is FANTASTIC, one of my favorite ODs (Suhr Riot clone), Vintage Overdrive is my best Tubescreamer over my Maxon made Ibanez TS9s, and the Ultimate Drive sounds just like an OCD by Fulltone. I recommend checking out the Caline pedals as well. The Crazy Cacti sounds JUST like a Fulltone Full Drive 2 to my ears.

The FLANGE sound (that you pronounce incorrectly) came from stereo tracks on tape - one channel that had someone gently pushing the flange of the reel created the swoosh we all know.

Interesting. I have this pedal and love it, the Joyo line is great for the money. Especially considering the other companies in the same price range are not. I had a Caline Snake Bite Reverb pedal that after about 20 minutes of playing crapped out. Absolutely no sound after 20 minutes of playing. I thought that sucked because for 20 minutes I was awestruck at the sound they managed to pack into a 55 dollar reverb pedal. The art was also really cool, but chances are if something is too good to be true it probably is.

Every musician have their own taste and feel but I have joyo tremolo I would not go play anywhere without it I love mine this pedal is fucking wonderful and willing to buy their other stuff no joke they rock

Eheh. It's funny but I never cared for Flangers. In fact I loathed flangers since ever. And Boss Flangers made me hate them even more [to my ears they have annoying highs and very metallic]. I got a great deal on a Ibanez FL-99 and that is one hell of a smooth, liquid and warm flanger {everything that Boss never delivered IMHO]. That said, You had the Joyo at a cool tamed setting. May I ask that in the future - if you are willing - you fiddle more with the knobs when demoing? Best regards.

Please don't take it the wrong way, I like your honesty so far. It's always refreshing to watch and hear someone say it as it is. Well, I love me some chorus [though not all of them] and occasionally will use a phaser for added movement; but Flangers get a bit annoying. You can do a lot of noise with them and set them for some very pleasing chorusy or Rotor Speaker effect [that's how I use mine] but most of them have a very nasty inherent top end that I find ear piercing most of the time.

Oh I'm absolutely open to feedback and I'm very happy to have it! I'm not gonna find more viewers if I can't adapt to what the people want right?! As far as flangers are concerned to each their own. I usually find myself using them for builds during bridges since I think the whole "airplane" sound really lends itself well to that.

for sure. If you have any more suggestions on affordable gear let us know. I can vouch for most of Joyo's stuff, Mooer [Donner/Rowin] and some NUX stuff that you can find on-line [their looper is pretty good and cheaper than Digitech or Boss with the same extras].

"As long as you get a metal box, I think you'll be ok......" When is the last time you had a pedal fail because the case broke? Ever? Even once? Have you ever actually used a guitar pedal before?

This series is dealing with budget pedals. Some of which come with cheap flimsy and easily broken cases. ex: dan electro. I have been playing on and off stage and in and out of studios for the last 12 years. These cheap, budget pedals are their own animals and with each brand you will find different "Quirks" you will absolutely find that some of the cases on these low price pedals from these small Chinese manufactures will use cheap thin metal or even plastic cases that do break. I would not have brought it up if I did not think the cases could be an issue with some low budget pedals. Especially when stomping on them on a dark stage when you are full of adrenaline. Hopefully this helps clear things up. If you have any suggestions as to things you would like me to critique about pedals in the future that would make these reviews meet what youre looking for more please let me know. This is a small channel and I'm still trying to figure this whole review thing out. Thanks for your time!

1-( and most pressing) it's a "flan-jer" .as in the flange on the tape reel.mispronouncing words make you sound dumb. 2 "cheap" is different than crap. The behringer super fuzz proves that cheap( even plastic) pedals can provide years of great tone.3 joyo has been making pedals under other brands for years and some of them are raved about.I don't think I'd get this one it's a bit to tinny for me but I do have the d seed delay and clasic chorus( that I adjusted to go waaay deeper than it came but it was just turning trim pot) And they have a permanent place on my pedal board.

"It makes more sense to buy the cheaper item if you can" - No, that would be called *false economy* because it's junk and the unfortunate buyer will soon learn that + just have to cut your losses and buy the decent gear you should have got in the 1st place. I'm sick of bad advice on youtube for $$ Buying junk is a false economy, saying it's the same as decent pedals is an intentional falsehood to line peoples pockets. Here's a genuine tip for poor musicians, don't buy crap, buy something truly good *used* at a bargain. You won't regret it :)

Billy Boy -- wrong. Joyo clone good pedals. The Ultimate Drive clones the Fulltone OCD. The UD is for many people better, and 1/4 the price. I have one.
