I agree! Their burrito bowls used to be $7.49/veggie bowl. Now it's like $12 and they don't give you much. I had to leave them alone and that hurts my soul. Thank you for the recipe because I will be trying this (without the meat)!!!

I make my black beans from scratch using dry beans in an instant pot. It takes a couple of hours but my family loves them that way. I use sofrito cooked in olive oil but i like your idea of bacon grease! ❤i do add cumin along with a 1/4 cup of vinegar and other dry seasonings like oregano & bay leaf.

This was right on time because my last trip to chipotle they messed my online order up😤. They gave me someone else meal and when I went back after work my order was sitting on the counter. Yup, the steak was nothing to write home about 😒 was so dry. If you like seafood - spicy shrimp (use same sauce he put on the chicken) for the protein its pretty good as a homemade bowl option.

Pro tip: drag the zester over the fruit in crescent shape motion. Not like grating cheese. You’ll get way more zest and it’s much more efficient.

They used to be my favorite fast casual restaurant. Chipotle is the perfect example of a company that got too big too fast and quality control was lost. I remember paying less than five dollars for a burrito almost twenty years ago. It’s really sad what’s happened and that’s why some restaurants like Inn and Out down want to franchise too much.
